anyone's DD do Irish Step Dancing?
I did as a kid and would love for DD to try it. She's only going to be 3 in May so I don't think we would even start anything until the fall. When did your DD start and what school do you go to? I went to the Hunt School, but I'm looking to go somewhere else.

I have a friend who just signed up her DD (she just turned 4) I can ask where they do it and if she likes it. She is in Nassau.

My sister and I did the Schade academy when we were younger. I started at 4...was never any good though. My sister is 27 and still dances! I definitely want to sign up DD when she is around 4. I think it is best if the kids know their right from their left before starting. It would make the steps alot less frustrating for them.

My sister is a dancing teacher. She owns the Mulvihill Lynch School. I know she has a location in Ronkonkoma, Kings Park and one out east. I can get you details if you want.

Crashing... I took Irish dancing my whole life and we had dancers at our wedding. I'm already looking into it for my unborn child, LOL. We live out east so I've been looking at Mulvihill Lynch and Kildaire. Both teach at multiple locations.

I grew up in Baltimore, MD so that is where I danced. We competed in PA a lot, but unfortunately though I did start young I too quit in high school. I guess I shouldn't have said my whole life. I still did the Baltimore St. Pat's parade, but stopped doing competitions b/c I thought I didn't have the time, how stupid.

I danced too but my teacher is upstate now.
All good schools - my cousin teaches at An Rince Mor in Smithtown. She's amazing.
PS - have you seen the trailer for the documentary Jig?

I took step dancing as a kid too and went to An Rince Mor in Smithtown. Peggy White (the owner) was my teacher for many years and was great. I wish I had stuck with it in HS because I really miss it now.

Oh wow, your sister owns it? I was taking adult classes there for a couple of years before I had DS. It was a lot of fun but had been getting a little rough to make it w/ DS and then DH was in school.
The kids I've seen there - amazing!!! I wish I had been in it as a kid! I am sort of maybe possibly considering trying to put DS in it when he gets old enough - just to try it.

I would def say Mulvihill Lynch! I used to dance there. Debbie is a great teacher, and constantly has kids going to World Championships!
