i don't but a friend does. her daughter started around 3 or 4 years old and still goes at 6. i think it is in franklin square or garden city, where they used to live.

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
Crashing, not a mom yet but already planning on putting my future LO in irish dance. It was a huge part of my life an we had dancers at our wedding. We live way out east (Hampton Bays) and I've already looked into these two companies b/c both have classes around the island Mulvihill Lynch (starts at age 4) has classes in Kings Park, Eastport, Speonk, Lake Ronkokoma
And Kildare Academy (starts at age 4) has classes in Center Moriches, Southampton, Middle Island, and Brightwaters
HTH!

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
I took lessons as an adult at the Schade Acamedmy in Levittown. It was the best work out and SO much fun. I even copeted in a festival
I loved the Schade Acad. the woman who runs it had 2 daughter's in Riverdance and has been doing it forever. She seemed great with the kids in the class before mine
I fully plan on enroling DD when she is about 3
I do know the lessons aren't cheap and if you compete the costumes are

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
I was looking into this for my dd as well. Most seem to start at 4. There is one in Massapequa right off sunrise highway and of course Shade in levittown.
I did find one in LOng Beach that starts at 3 1/2.

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
I was pleased to learn that there is a place near me in the city that does Irish dance and it only cost $1,000 per year for once a week classes! That is such a bargain here! I can't wait to enroll dd when she turns 4!

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
My mom started me when I was 3 at the Schade academy..I really really wish I had stuck with it..I think I started too young..not sure what I am going to do with DD but I really want her to do it and I hope she likes it!

Re: anyone have their child in Irish dancing? A few questions
I started when I was about 3 and went someplace in Kings Park, Jerry Mulvihill was my teacher. I stopped and then started again when I was 16 at Mulvihill-Lynch and they now have a ton of studios.
