Anyones DH have low testosterone?

my DH has had low test for a few years and has been taking androgel. We knew this might be a problem when we started TTC and it has been confirmed with his SA results (no sperm)

When we see the urologist next week- we are expecting him to advise DH to get off androgel (testosterone) but DH really needs to be on it b/c his symptoms are very bad.

Ive heard of clomid being prescribed for low test and to help raise sperm count...has anyones DH done this and did the clomid help with the low test? Can clomid be taken along with testosterone or swapped out ?

Are there any other meds that help raise testosterone that dont lower sperm count?

Has anyone DH taken testosterone than got off it to raise sperm count (if so how long did it take to see results)?

Im hoping to hear some success stories b/c right now we are feeling very down about it all

My DH had very low sperm count and his urologist told us we had no other choice but to do IVF. His numbers were due to low testosterone and "unexplained infertility" was the actual diagnosis. He went to acupuncture for 3 months and the acupuncturist prescribed Chinese herbs which raised his counts from 400,000 to over 6 million, but his morphology was still too low for IUI (it was less than 1%) and his motility was unchanged. The herbs worked wonders for his testosterone, they put him in the normal range. We ended up doing IVF and got PG on the second cycle. Good luck!
