Anyone's kids waking up at the crack of dawn with the time change? Need Help!
My kids are so messed up. First most days they are refusing their afternoon nap. They are waking up at 6:45 I know some people are probably thinking yeah whatever-thats late! But I can't do it every day. They are ALL over the place right now and by the time it is bedtime I am exhausted.
I really need them to sleep until at least 7:45. So any advice?
Yesterday they woke up at 6 and I got them both back to sleep. They took a 2 hour nap at 11. and then were up until 6:45pm-their usual bedtime without afternoon naps.
Today I couldn't get them back to sleep so yay I was up at 6:30 and they will probably refuse their afternoon nap and be miserable from 4 until bedtime.
I really don't have the extra money to go buy blackout shades so I am thinking about Macgyvering up some window coverings to block light. Any other suggestions? I need sleep!!

I'd love some answers as well. DS has been waking up at 5:30 the past few days. I'm exhausted!

DS has been screwy too. Waking up at 4 freaking 30 in the morning 3 days ago. then 2 daysa go was 4:45 and today was 5:45!!!!!!! So it looks like it's taking a few days for him to get back on track (I need him to be up between 6 and 6:15 am)
I would try waking them up from their morning nap after 1 hour so that they can take their afternoon nap. Dr. Weissbluth says "Protect the afternoon nap at all cost" lololol
Give them a couple of days too see if they get back on track.

same here. DD has been waking up at around 6 (its usually 7:30is) Im hoping in a few days she will go back to normal. We have super cheap black out shades... the white plastic ones from home depot that are cut to size.

When DD was that young she was a mess after the time changes. It took a good two weeks for her to go back to her old routine. It was the worst!

what time to they do down? I find the later I put DS to bed, the earlier he gets up.
Also, I just bought thermal lined drapes at Penneys, which blackout the room, they were $14.99ea per panel.

Re: Anyone's kids waking up at the crack of dawn with the time change? Need Help!
DD woke up today at 5:30... and I was happy about that because it wasn't 4 or 4:30 (like Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). 5:30 is her normal though so I'm used to it. She's only slept until 7:00 twice that I can remember.
I'm sure they'll adjust to the time difference in a few days.

So I was just reading online and a lot of people are saying put them down later They go to bed anytime between 6:45 and 7:15 depending on their naps-if they take a late nap I let them stay up later. If they don't nap they are in bed at 6:45 sometimes 6:30

I used to put DS down at 6:00 PM. Now, he is a crank monster by 5:00! I feel like if he isn't down by 5:45 latest (after bath/milk, etc), I will miss my window
