Approx how much do new batteries cost for a cordless phone?
we have 2 Panasonic cordless phones - both are about 5 yrs old, maybe more.
I work from home 1 day a week now and have a few hours worth of conference calls. the battery life is on low side. after about 2+ hours, the phone dies and I have to switch phones.
I'm wondering if it's worth it to replace the battery pack, or just buy a new phone system. my parents just bought a Panasonic phone system w/an answering machine and 2 or 3 handsets, and the whole set was only $70.

I replaced a battery at radio shack and it was $20.

so I could pay $40 for 2 new battery packs, or for $30 more, get the same set my folks got
 what to do....

If you are ready for a new phone system get it. The new systems are more powerful.
How long do you have yours?
Ours is about 5 years old. It works fine.

Ours is about 5 years old. It works fine.
I'd say 1 is more than 5 yrs old, the 2nd is 5 yrs old.
they both work fine. and if I didn't work from home 1x a week, I would never even notice that the battery life is only 2+ hrs.

I'd say it's time for new phones. You can certainly justify it because you work from home.
The new phone system may also have fun features that are cool.
