Re: are colored outdoor lights...

There's a mix of everything around me, but down the main street of town, all the town decorations and businesses are white only. I noticed it the other night and wondered if they require that of the businesses along Lake Avenue.

I have everything, I don't care what the trend is. If it makes us happy and we like the way it looks, that's what we do.

I never got into the icicle lights but really like the spiral lighted trees on lawns.

Re: are colored outdoor lights...

i really only took notice to this b/c when in the car with my kids they like me to "take the long way home" so they can see lights. they LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors, and so i noticed more color.

Dh only does white on the eaves of the house (our old house) .. he likes a clean look. we hang a wreath on the outside and some big red bows in my big windows... a santa scene in my bow window, and my front post was wrapped like a candy cane.

it was nice b/c my house was blue with red shutters, so the white with the red worked really nice.

in the new house, we can change it all up b/c we won't have a two story house so hanging white lights on the one eave will look ridiculous.

i can't wait, i can't wait, i can't wait!!!

I just do one bush with white then the next with red and so on so it looks like a candy cane

I will be attempting this tomorrow, I am short one red net set, ACE & Home Depot seem to be all out :( I have to go on a hunt tonight
