Re: are favors "expected" or necessary at a baby shower?
what about doing something as easy as dipping log pretzels in chocolate and attaching to the bag about the donation.

hmmm...
what if I did a little sign at each table that said "Kisses from ST. JUDE in appreciation of your donation" and stuck it in a bowl of hershey kisses??? do you think that would be ok?
That's a perfect idea!!!

Re: are favors "expected" or necessary at a baby shower?
I love donation favors and wanted to do this myself. Unfortunately all the old-school italians in my family live for a favor so we didn't, but I personally love donation favors and prefer them over any other kind of favor our there. I think what your doing is great

Re: are favors "expected" or necessary at a baby shower?
"I am doing the donation, and the "favor" was going to say that a donation was made on the guests behalf to st. judes.
so there would be a donation and something for the guest to take home.
sorry for the confusion"
This is more then enough, a little card to let them know
I think most people will truly appreciate this and St. Judes may even have something for you to give out

I would definitely give a favor at the shower. You can easily print up a tag and attach it to an edible favors over. Pastel M&Ms in a little jar or chocolate covered pretzels make awesome favors...

I think this is a great idea. I never really care if I get a favor or not, but I do get excited if there is an edible favor. I usually don't keep any of the other ones I have received, with the exception of bookmarks, but I am a big reader.

I think this is the PERFECT idea! I love the kisses and the donation. I also don't care for favors but they are expected where I live and a shower without something......well that's just begging for you to be a social outcast I always prefered something edible or a small candle. We're doing the bun in the oven candle from BRU and that's it.

I voted before I read that you are doing a donation. As long as you hand something out about the donation, I don't think you need a favor.

Re: are favors "expected" or necessary at a baby shower?
I was just talking to my sis about this for my luncheon - I'm planning to do a donation too and wasn't going to give out anything else. But the candy idea, hershey kisses is cute:)

We had no favors at my shower - but it was a surprise so I wasn't held accountable
