Are there any IVF meds usually not covered by insurance?
I've found out that viagra suppositories aren't covered but is there anything else usually not covered by insurance?

I think it all depends on what kind of insurance you have.

I don't think Lupron is covered either (the pharmacist said they won't even submit it to the ins companies because they don't pay nearly enough for it).

I actually just paid $25 for lupron! I think it really depends on the insurance........
Although, I feel like even with consistently having the same insurance, I am always told something different It's very frustrating!

It definitely depends on the insurance... Neupogen is not a conventional drug for IF purposes and dr b said it most likely wont be covered.... I got lucky and they did... BUT i got a letter from my insurance co that i can only get that "specialty" drug through their mail order pharmacy....

Lupron was covered for me with a $50 co-pay, follistim was also $50, femara $25. And ovidriel was never covered and I always paid $105 for it.

Really? Kraupner's told me they wouldn't put it thru any insurance because it's so expensive to make! I paid $100 for my Lupron trigger, when I should have only paid $5

Nooo check freedom!! They have it for $65!!!!!
Freedom's price list for those paying out of pocket!
ETA: I just saw that for ovidrel, if you don't order it with other fertility drugs there is a $30 handling fee. That's ridiculous. I'd order it at the same time as other fertility drugs so you don't have to pay that fee obviously.. but otherwise I'd try to talking to someone there to try and get the fee waved. I have ordered Ovidrel from there in the past and they did not have this special fee- although the last time I used Ovidrel was a year ago.

I got my HCG shot from Kraupner's with no insurance coverage for meds and it was $72 including delivery.

Freedom pharmacy!!!!!
I used them for everything else, but I requested theLupron trigger last minute because I was scared of over stimulating and having my cycle cancelled (good thing I requested it). So they delivered it literally hours before my trigger, lol. I liked Freedom much better!

Re: Are there any IVF meds usually not covered by insurance?
It totally depends on your insurance coverage. I have Empire NYSHIP all my meds were covered, (I was on BCP, Follistim, Lupron, Neupogen, Lovenox) although I had to use their special mail order pharmacy for some things. The only med I had to pay OOP for was the Viagra suppositories.
ETA: I still had to pay a small copay for each drug, anywhere from $5 to $20 depending on the drug.

Same.
Freedom for Viagra and Accredo for the Neupogen.
Also, Krauppners charges you for needles, alcohol prep and syringe containers where as, Freedom never has.
I always ask Krauppners for a breakdown of my co-pays, etc. just to be sure.
