Are there any Nursery Schools in Nassau for kids under 2 years?
People keep insisting that such a thing exists but I have yet to find any. And rather than keep looking in vain I might as well just ask. Also, are any of these separation/drop off programs? TIA!

Re: Are there any Nursery Schools in Nassau for kids under 2 years?
I doubt there are many nursery schools per se for two year olds. There may be daycare centers that have pt hours or there may be separation programs. My experience with nursery schools, albeit in Suffolk, is that most programs start at 2.5.

Yes, the nursery school my son goes to has classes for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. It is not a daycare facility, its a school only. FM if you want info, Im guessing its one of few because people come from all over to go to it.

Most of them start at age 3, I'm also looking to find schools that offer it earlier, but I can't find any.

I FM'ed Kristen, but I am sending DD to a school that has a program for 18-24 month olds. It's in the N. Mass/Seaford area if anyone is interested... I don't think it's a daycare b/c they don't take children under 18 months.

Re: Are there any Nursery Schools in Nassau for kids under 2 years?
Nursery programs do exist for chilren under 2. I was a teacher in a pre-school for several years (it was NOT a daycare) and they started a 2 yr. old program from 18 mo. +. It was about 2 hrs. long 2 x's a week. I thought it was great for them. They had art & crafts (where they would finger paint, color, etc.). Than they did circle time where they sang songs, read books, learned about music and instruments, etc. And than there was playtime. They rotated every 40 min. or so. Than they would come to the 3 yr. old program which is what I taught.
