Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
The boys room is always cold even though we have our heat on 73. Rylan is ok because he calls me in every time his blanket comes off. Xavier hates having a blanket on so I feel like he is always cold in the middle of the night.
Does anyone know if there are any SAFE space heaters I can use?

yes i have one!!! i bought mine from qvc. it's a little ceramic one and if anything hits it or it gets knocked over it shuts off automatically. it's so small but i does the trick!! for some reason there are two rooms in my house that get really cold in the winter and it works great and i never have to worry!!! they have some on their website and if you look some have videos so you can learn more! hope this helps!

Yup that's it...it's programmable, just be careful bc DD has pressed the buttons a couple of times without me realizing and it didn't shut off and her room got INSANELY hot...but it literally has happened twice in the past two years...but other than that it's great!!!1

Thanks guys. I'm glad I asked because I didn't think there would be any safe enough for a kids room.

I'm in and out of their room 100X a night unfortunately so that wouldn't be a problem...lol.

OK good, now I'm anal and just check to make sure it shuts off at least once and if it does I"m good..but it's great I leave it at 69 and as the other poster says it shuts off when it gets 2 degrees higher than that and turns on when it hits 2 degrees lower..DD's room is at least a good 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house

Re: Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
We have 2 of the Lasko tower heaters from BBB - 1 in each of the kids rooms and thinking of getting a 3rd for our laundry room which is ALWAYS freezing. HIGHLY recommend it! and you can use the 20% coupon as well :)

Re: Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
We have a Lasko as well and are very happy with it.
DH did a lot of research, he's in the FDNY and is anti-space heater and he made the decision.

Re: Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
Thanks...we'll definitely be going with a Lasko. Was it just the brand he liked or a specific one?

Re: Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
Thank you so much for posting this.
My DS' room gets SO cold at night because it's over the garage. We wind up cranking the heat to 75 in an attempt to keep him warm at night because the idea of a space heater being on at night really freaks me the h*ll out. But I will research the Lasko and see if it's worth considering.
I'm tired of waking up all sweaty!!! Our room and DD's rooms stay nice and toasty.

Re: Are there any space heaters that are safe for a toddlers room?
Are they getting up at night yet? No matter how safe the unit is, I would be concerned about them getting up at night and burning themselves on it, or knocking it over and burning down the house.
JMO, but I would skip it and pile on blankets for now, until you can do something about the garage.
