Are there certain items you have to buy
that have a brand name? Groceries, household items, clothing, etc.
For instance, I cannot use any other detergect except for Tide, and any other fabric softener but Downy. I also cannot wear a watch without a brand name, or sneakers with no brand name. Does this make me a snob?

Abercrombie
Anything from Nordstrom, Neiman, Bloomies, and Saks
ETA No that does not make you a snob because most of the time you get what you pay for.

Nope..cause then I am one too!!
Shampoo/Conditioner always has to be some good brand..I refuse to use a VO5 or Suave, White Rain..etc.
My bags have to be a brand name..thats a must!!

no not a snob, I think we are all like that even if no one says it. I will only use Fantastik w/bleach, Tide I also will not wear keds, just a thing I have.

Tide girl here too! I won't use any other brand.
the only store brand items I buy are cereal (occasionally) and spices. S&S parsley, garlic, basil, etc.

I won't use store brand tissues. They are too scratchy! It was only Kleenex untill recently--we branched out to Puffs.
There are defintely some products where the brand makes a difference.
I only buy Hebrew National Hot dogs, Boar's head Cold cuts, but I'm all about who ever has the least expensive ibuprophin.
I am more concerned with brands for things I eat/use as opposed to things I wear/carry.

I bought S&S corn chex once b/c it was $2 and LOVED it. So I buy that now. and IMO, the spices are probably all packaged at the same place. the other things that I buy generic are Advil and contact lens solution. it's a fraction of the brand names and they work just as well.

sneakers..have to be adidas or nike...
skin care...has to be oil of olay...
deodorant...must be lady speed stick..
fabric softener..only original downy...
thats it for the must haves for me...

A lot of items that are "store branc" are really the same items packaged differently. For instance, my friend was buying Enfamil formula until she compared a can of Enfamil to BJ's store brandand it was EXACTLY the same-not one difference.
I do have to buy Heinz Ketchup, Scott Toilet Paper, and good paper towels usually Bounty. Purses I buy what I like and I have a couple of Coach bags. Clothese, I mostly shop at TJ Maxx so I have some quality stuff and some trendy stuff.

hair products-MUST be SALON name-i get them from beauty supply stores-altho i do use loreal vive-
pepsi & coke-no store brand sodas
ONLY boards head cold cuts for me
clothes-i really dont mind-i know how much they REALLY cost to make...so if i can find a $10 shirt and the same one for $50and brand name..im buyin the 10 dollar shirt
as far as jeans-i buy 7's, but i buy them from a secret store for 27 bucks

Cereals must be name brand
I will buy some store brand food, like flour, sugar, and spices, but otherwise, I like the name brand.
I will buy store brand plastic bags and other things like that.
For sneakers, I go by style, but I have my favorite brands - new balance, puma, sketchers.
For clothing, I certainly have my favorite stores that I usually shop at, but I'm not necessarily adverse to other brands.
