I'll only buy brand name diapers and wipes for the baby...

For household items there are brands that I prefer, sure, but I wouldn't say that I "have" to buy brand name for any of them... I would try store brands for pretty much anything.

For clothing - no I do not have to buy brand names. If I like and it fits well, I buy it.

I think it makes a person a snob if you'll "only" buy brand names for anything and everything for the sole reason that they "must" have brand names.

Bounce fabric sheets

Heinz ketchup
French's mustard (for DH)
Vlasic pickles (for DH)
Tropicana OJ
Boars Head Cold Cuts
Perdue Chicken

Kleenex or Puffs, never any other

Fancy Feast or Meow Mix for the cats (I hope these are "ok" brands and do not harm the animals)

As for hair products, I always buy the same because I like them not b/c they are a particular brand name.

But there are PLENTY of store brands that we buy and we trade off brands based on the coupons we have.

ETA: Playtex tampons. I do not like Tampax or OB.

Soda must be Coke or Pepsi product. I can't drink anything else. No name brand, no White Rose, no Shasta, etc!

Cold Cuts must be Boars Head.

I do use Kirkland Lanudry detergent, but I prefer Tide.

Baby food must be Gerber or BeechNut

If you're a snob, then I'm right there with you!!!

I only like ALL detergent, brand name paper towels and dish soap, BeBe jeans (only because of the fit), New Balance sneakers, Boar's Head cold cuts, Progresso soup, French's mustard, Chock Full O' Nuts coffee, Hellmann's mayo and other things I am sure I can't think of.

DH will only use Heinz ketchup and drink Tropicana OJ.

BUT!

I only use brand name for certain things because I have found their quality to be better and more cost effective. There are many items that I will buy generic because the quality is just as good.

I only use Tide and Bounce, Dove soap, Cetaphil face wash, Palmolive dish soap, Heinz Ketchup, those are a few I can think of...
eta A LOT of things I buy I will buy the generic, like America's Choice or CVS or Pathmark brand...saves a lot of $$.

Neutrogena for face stuff, Dove for deoderant, Dawn dishwashing soap, All "free" detergent, Always feminine products.

Although there are some other brands of things that I gravitate towards in terms of clothes, bags, shoes... I don't have to wear a label.

DH on the other hand is a big time label snob. I've tricked him on occasion, told him something was a label that really wasn't and he raved. Only then did I tell him it was the no-name that he trashed the week before.

I'm weird when it comes to brands. Like I HAVE to have Bounty paper towels, but I don't really care what kind of napkins or toilet paper I have. I'm also a Tide girl and I also only buy Crest toothpaste and Poland Spring water. As for clothing. I'll only wear Nike sneakers.

I follow the brands I grew up using. In college I thought I was a genius when I discovered that they made generic brands (yes I led a sheltered life). I called my mom to tell her about it & to explain how I saved a ton of money because I bought toilet paper, laundry detergeant & peanut butter. She said "Have you tried it yet?" When I responded no, she said "Let me know how it goes." I called her back a few days later to tell her I'm never straying again.

Almost forgot - Peas have to be Laseur, DH calls me a pea snob
