Yay! Yay! Yay! I LOVE my VS velour jumpsuits. I have a tone of them. They wash great, colors are vibrant, and VERY comfy.
how do they run? i want to order some; i have a juicy but they are always so weird fitting on me. im between a large and x large in juicy...
Hmm.. I'm a size 4 (pre prego) and in these suits wear a small. Depends on how tight you want them. I also love that you can order the length. I have some NY&Co too. Those shrink, so I get bigger in those.

I don't think there is anytihng wrong with them. To each his own. Everyone has a different taste in clothing. Some people make them look cute, some don't. I had a Juicy one that I loved and would still wear if it still fit me

Re: Are Velour Sweatsuits totally out of style?
Wow! I have to thank you for this post bc although I dont have the VS ones I have a few sweat suits from express (from this fall I might add) that I ALWAYS wear out and about----->to go food shopping/ take DD to Art class, dance etc. I didnt know they were that out of style or considered frumpy!!
I guess they will be more for in the house now
I dont consider myself frumpy, but maybe I am pushing it with these now!
I had NO CLUE...HONESTLY!!
SO let me ask...what does everyone wear to run errands etc during a weekday.
EVERYONE gets dressed up?? EVERYDAY? wow!
ETA: I am speaking about regular suit suits not velour, but I guess they are considered the same.

Re: Are Velour Sweatsuits totally out of style?
I have one and like it, though it's just for around the house, not for any good reason. I just prefer to wear jeans when I go out.
IMO a woman can be in formal wear or a suit and still look sloppy. I don't think there are too many things we wear that are automatically sloppy. I think you can look very neat in sweats. I've seen female gym teachers who always look well-groomed despite wearing sweats daily.

For quick errands in the winter? Jeans and a sweater. I also wear ALOT of dresses. A cute sweater dress and boots is so comfy and looks fantastic! In the spring/summer I wear dresses pretty much exclusively. I realize I dress up more then the average person possibly, but you asked!

DO NOT even worry about it.
Everyone on "LIF" gets dressed up every day.
Everyone "IRL" does not
If all of these people are getting fancy everyday I dont know where they are going b/c all day long, I see sweatsuits and casual outfits. . .
but then again, i am in Howard Beach

Well what do you mean by dressed up? When I'm doing errands on the weekend, I'm in Jeans and a top/sweater and some type of heels.( I don't wear flats, only time is if it's bad weather of course) I don't leave the house without make up and hair done and jewelry on. I don't consider that dressed up, that is just everyday normal for me, it's how I grew up and how my mom is/was.

There is such a huge middle ground between getting "dressed up" and wearing velour sweat suits. That's like saying if you refuse to eat McDonald's, you must be on some strict raw-food macrobiotic diet.

I wouldn't call it getting dressed up but I have a sort of uniform....I wear skinny jeans, tall flat boots, a tank and an open cardigan or some loose shirt on top, a scarf and my jacket. A knit hat on the days I can't deal with my hair. That's how I run my errands, meet friends for lunch etc.
But I don't care about what other people wear. I only care about what I'm wearing Velour suits are just not 'me'.

Re: Are Velour Sweatsuits totally out of style?
I wouldnt go buy new ones now, but I have older ones that I wear now in the house or in my parents house if I am not going "out" anywhere. I dont judge others that do wear them out, I could care less what someone wears.
If I am in the house wearing one, my boyfriend calls me Carmella Soprano and we crack up, it is so funny

Pretty much exactly this for me -- I just don't like wearing yoga pants or similar out. Partially b/c I think wind goes right through them and it's cold! Skinny jeans and ballet flats or flat boots, a top, and coat/scarf combo. Done!

My mom is totally the same way and so am I for the most part. I mean I do go out in yoga pants and or sweats- but I NEVER EVER go anywhere without make up on. But that is more a function of my horrible skin. If I went anywhere without make up on I might scare people! It's not even acceptable!

Re: Are Velour Sweatsuits totally out of style?
I still wear my black velour sweatsuit for running errands/going to the gym. I used to have a pink one, which I wouldn't wear anymore, and I wouldn't wear one in any bright color but the grey one in the picture is nice.

This is me also, it's not that I get "dressed up " every day, I wear jeans, skinny or not, flats, high heels, knee high boots, cute tops, cute scarves, hats and so on, it's my style and how I feel comfortable. I just don't wear sweat suits, they were never really my thing, but ever since moving to HB I truly despise them, lol. I also don't care what others wear, I have my style you have yours, whatever makes you happy and makes you feel comfortable .

Re: Are Velour Sweatsuits totally out of style?
I've been in the house all day, preggo, in a comfy velour sweatsuit, and I'm thinking that I'm going to run errands in it later tonight, but this thread keeps nagging at me! Whatever, I'm too lazy and comfy to change clothes just to run to the supermarket!
