Are you buying baby items off amazon? What happens if there is a recall or product default?

Obviously if you buy from a reputable store like BBB, BRU, Walmart, you will be able to exchange the item at the store but what happens if you buy something online and it is defaulted? (ie faulty motor from a swing)

Can you return it to the manufacturer?

I know that I had gotten DH an XBox360 off the net a few yrs ago and something was wrong with it. DH sent the XBox to Microsoft directly. It didn't matter where we bought it.

we are getting the mattress off of Amazon-- just because that is the only place where I found the one we want...

I am sure that if there was recall on an item, Amazon and/or the manufacturer will take it back. Amazon is an extremely reputable online retailer. It's not like you are ordering from BABYDEALSFREECOUPONS.com.
