Are you going to get the H1N1 vaccine??
My DD is 9 weeks and they said i am in a priority group because she is so young. Im nervous because it's such a new vaccine.
Are you going to get it?? Why or whynot??
ETA: I know DD is too young to get it but the PED said that DH and i should get it because DD is so young. I don't know what i should do, it's just so new but they predict the flu is only going to get worse and more widespread.

no, NONE of us are getting it. The reason, because I don't want it. I don't think DS needs ANOTHER shot! He is not in daycare or sitter senario. And, I dont like the fact that they are rushing it out. I also, think people get themselves crazy with what the media and or some book says about something. I take the proper precautions and Im fine with that.

i saw on the today show that it is made the same exact way as the regular flu shot. Yes, we are all getting it once it comes out. I trust the Dr's to tell me what to do. They are the experts, not me

my DDs ped did NOT reccomend it. she feels is was rushed out and it too new and we dont know the side effects of it yet. We got the regular flu shot for DD, not swine..

If there are any available for me, I will. I am not in one of the priority groups.
Like a PP said, it was made exactly the same way as the seasonal flu vaccine. Every year the flu sho t is "new." The swine flu one will probably work better actually, because they know specifically what the strain of flu is (unless it mutates) unlike the seasonal flu, where they guess which strains will be the most prevalent.
The H1N1 vaccine is no newer than the seasonal flu vaccine, and it is in no way similar to the swine flu vaccine of 1976. That one was produced in a totally different way.

no way Jose! I think the drug companies just wanna make more $$$ They need to do a lot more research on it b4 they put it out. they are rushing it out too quickly.
