nope. never used one for DS. i don't even use the extra sheets i have for him!
i have a sheet on his bed and 2 ultimate crib sheets over it, which are waterproof and wonderful! when one gets dirty, i pull it off and there's another UCS ready to go. i never have to change the sheets or the bed which is super important at 4am!
i will be buying 2 more UCS for DD and will not buy any sheets or covers other than what comes with her set.

I didnt bc they are still a PITA in the middle of the night if they get wet...your still not going to keep DC laying on it. Instead, I bought the Carters keep my dry lap pads, and laid them under DS at night in bed and if he spit up or leaked through his diaper, you just picked up the lap pad and changed that instead of having to rip sheets off in the middle of the night.

i forgot about those! i used lap pads under him until he started rolling over--they were wonderful!

Just from experience with 2 kids that were in cribs at the same time...they are PITA to change in the middle of the night, but too many pees on one mattress starts to get gross even if its a waterproof mattress. They sell a matress cover/sheet that snaps on the sides and is much easier to remove. The lap pads definitely work, but once the baby starts moving around they bunch up and don't really work either. I would use the lap pads in the beginning and a mattress pad once the baby gets bigger.

excellent idea! when my crib comes in, we're going to pick up 2 UCS for it, too.
