Are you still in touch with friends from high school?

Lately I have been noticing on facebook that there are huge groups of friends that are still together and seemingly pretty exclusive from my high school class. So I was wondering how common this is, because I'm not really in touch with anyone from high school anymore. What's your experience? Do you know what the trend is in your high school class?

My husband is still in touch with a few groups from his HS and they are all very tight and somewhat intertwined. I have always only been in touch with a few people and they actually do not know each other very well so it is definitely not any sort of exclusive group. There are groups from my HS that are still close but there are also seem to be a lot of people like me from my class, people who just have a few close HS friends from a few different crowds. One of the friends I have been in touch with forever is a year younger than I am and we don't even really know all of the same people. We just happened to become friends and we never lost touch.

Nope, not really. Outside of being "friends" with them on FB, I don't really see or hang with any of them now. I am still close to a select group of my college buddies.

I see a lot of people from high school. About 10-12 on a regular basis...probably 10 more on a semi regular basis...and another 10 or so a few times a year...that's just people that I went to high school with...I still see a lot of other people that I was friends with during high school (but didn't go to my school) and that I went to elementary, but not high school with.

My DH & I went to hs together. We still keep in touch with a few people but we're not super close with any of them.

We bought the house that DH grew up in, and 2 people in our hs class also grew up on our block and we're still in touch with them. We all have sons that are the same age and live in the same district, so our boys will all go to hs together too, which is kind of fun.

I'm the lone "other" and I voted that way because after high school and through the years I had eventually lost touch with all my friends from high school. But then a few years ago I started reconnecting with a lot of people through facebook to the point of actually getting together and staying in touch so I'm slowly reconnecting with more and more people.

I lost touch with most people from high school. ... and I am probably very hard to be found too since I don't go on facebook.

My two BFFs We met in kindergarten and graduated high school together and at 35 we are still TIGHT.

My two best girlfriends are from high school. But they're the only ones I still speak with on a regular basis.

ALL of my friends are friends from HS.......and we're all super close. DH and I are HS sweethearts (same school and class) and lots of our HS friends also married people from our HS. Then through FB I talk to many, many people from my grade as well. I have found that in my HS (I went to Plainedge) many people have stuck together and stayed in touch over the years. I think it's pretty cool!

my best friends are the same friends i met when i was 9..we went to high school together and r still as close as anything

dh was also in that group of friends ..we went to high school and college together lol

I am still friend with and in touch with my two closest friends. They were both in my wedding.
I have reconnected with a few people on FB which has been nice.

My two closest friends are from HS BUT we were best friends before HS as well.

Other than my small group of work friends, I have known all of my friends since elementary school LOL

I had a pretty big group of close and extended friends in HS. While I am not seeing all of them on a regular basis I do see a lot of them a every now and then.
But, there is a group of friends (some were my besties and still are and some were friends and are now much closer) that I am still super close with. Then there are people that were my besties that I see only a few times a year. They live in CA. now. There are very few that I have TOTALLY fallen out of contact with.

Then there are my "high school" youth group friends. I still see them all the time. They went to chaminade so they aren't from my school but, were my good friends in high school and went to grade school with me.

After 10 years my BFF from high school and I reconnected on facebook. She lives five minutes from me and has DC that are only 5 months older than DS. While I would not say we are anywhere near BFFs anymore, we are friendly and have playdates once a week. Other than t hat, no, I have not kept in touch with anyone from HS.

I've lost touch with many of my high school friends. We used to catch up be a few times a year, but now catch up once every few years. My old "group" is still very much in touch with each other. I think being part of the group made it easy to overlook some pretty funny & awesome people.

For DH, his group are all still in touch with each other & are very close, in each other's wedding, going to each other's block parties, milestone birthdays and promotions.

When DH & I talked about it, we wondered if it had to do with how many went to college or away to college. The percentage was a lot higher in my school.

All of my friends are from elementary/jr. high/high school. We are still all pretty close. Many of them I've known since kindergarten!

I still hangout with the same girls I hungout with in HS, though I did not attend the same school as all of them. We all went to different catholic but are from the same neighborhood. One of my BFF's and I went to the same school though.

So...yes!

Though there are tons of people I lost touch with from HS when I went away to college. It is nice to see what they are up to via FB.

I don't know of any trends. If people are still friends or whatever, but for me... I only speak to one person from hs. We rarely see one another but when we do, it's like we were never apart :). I had another friend from hs who was actually supposed to be in my bridal party but I severed ties with her over some major issues. So will I be going to my 10 yr hs reunion this year? Nope... No interest

I am still very close friends with the same group from HS and we all hang out constantly. DH and I went to HS together so that helped. Its been 14 years since graduation and there is no sign of us stopping anytime soon, in fact 5 of us just met up on a little vacation together without our spouses.

We had a larger group, but now only a few of us are still friends. Some of it was drama, some of it was just drifting apart. I am friends with a few more on Facebook... but that doesn't really count

i never had a huge "group" though, but i still am bf with the same girl since 2nd grade..so 17 years now
