Art smock?
It says on DD's K supply list that she needs an art smock, and there is a note that says that old shirts work best. What type of old shirt? I'm assuming DH's, right? Button down? But my DH is 6'1" and I think it will just be too ridiculously big for her. I did get her one of the Crayola art smocks, but am open to suggestions for what is really best.
What do you use?

Re: Art smock?
I remember as a child wearing my dad's shirt backwards as a smock. Loved it.

Re: Art smock?
I'd love to know the answer to this, too. My DS's list said the exact same thing, and I have no idea what to send (sorry I'm no help).

Re: Art smock?
I am a teacher and find that the button down shirt is not the best option. It often requires someone else to help them. I recommend just getting a t shirt a little bigger that your child's normal size. I have often had parents get $5 t shirts from the craft store. If you want to get creative, you can put their name on it with a paint pen. That might be fun. Hope that helps.

And it's not a problem with them putting it over their heads? My DC is a girl and will have her hair done every day. This doesn't make them messy?
ETA: how about getting a boys button down shirt a bit bigger than she needs and replacing the buttons with velcro?

Re: Art smock?
I get them art smocks from Michaels. They are light blue, long sleeved and have velcro closures. With a 40% off coupon it's less than $2.
