Aruba restaurants - any reccommendations?
I'm heading to Aruba for a long weekend and would like to eat at nice, fairly inexpensive restaurants off of the resort property, in the Palm Beach/Eagle Beach area.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
TIA

Re: Aruba restaurants - any reccommendations?
I loved Gasparito - it was a small restaurant in an art museum and pretty reasonable for the area.
It's not far from the high rise hotels.

Gianni's Italian restaurant was very good. We stayed at the Riu and walked there, it's right across from the high rise section.

If you go to only 1 place, I highly suggest el gaucho if your a steak eater. I've never had a better meal! So worth it.

I'm not familiar with the area you are speaking but el gaucho is a really good place to eat. Downtown I like iguana joes and the paddock. I've also heard madame jeanettes is to die for.

We hated Madame Jeannette's but other people say it's great. We loved Screamin' Eagle, Flying Fishbone (which is a long ways away from the Palm Beach area though), and Texas de Brazil (didn't go to El Gaucho's... next time!).

Re: Aruba restaurants - any reccommendations?
My best meal EVER in my entire life was at Madame Jannette's- DH too. Loved the atmosphere and even though it was pricier than we normally spend, it was a wonderful night!
We also ate at Texas De Brazil for the 1st time in Aruba on our honeymoon and now churrascarias are an addiction.
For casual, we always go top Iguana Joe's downtown and people watch while drinking a big frozen drink

Re: Aruba restaurants - any reccommendations?
Thanks so much for all of these recommendations!!
They all look good and seem a lot better than the two restaurants at the hotel we are staying at.
Thanks for the feedback

Re: Aruba restaurants - any reccommendations?
I wasn't a big fan for Madame Jeanette. It was so, so.. but if for a really romantic meal, Marandi is a must. It's an open palapa type of restaurant.. and you are seat on a deck over the water. It was just amazing.. to watch the sun set.. and the fish under your feet. Also Passions.. dine at the beach. Loved it!

El Gaucho was incredible! I still think about my meal sometimes & can't wait to go back! (skirt steak with fried plantains on the side & german choc cake for dessert)
Also for casual breakfast/lunch place, Salt & Pepper was amazing! The pancakes were dutch - I'd never had them before & they were so good. You can also bring them unique salt & pepper shakers to display in the restaurant. s&p
