generally depend on the gender of your children? To clarify, if you have a girl do you socialize more with the other girl moms and their DDs?
Right now, DDs are young, so it doesn't matter too much...but I was wondering as they get older and don't want to play with boys anymore (or anyway, play with girls more) will I drift away from the boy moms?

Honestly.. I don't have a lot of 'mom' friends. I have acquaintances that I've met through school - and yeah as they've gotten older there is a gender preference. Robbie and Noah prefer to do playdates with boys - and the older they get the less invitations they get for parties from girls.
What's funny is that Robbie and Noah are very close with my best friend's daughters who are in the same district - but a different elementary school. It's fine now because neither have to acknowledge to their school friends that they play with girls.. but I wonder what it will be like when they hit middle school and they are all in the same school!

It depends..if I click with a parent of another child, the relationship takes on a separate life. I have friends where our kids have long since stopped playing together but we still get together for dinner. Regardless of boys or girls, sometimes the kids just fall out of playing together and also as they get older, you don't attend the playdates as much so you might not get to know the other parents as well as you did when the kids were smaller.
