Your SIL is certifiably insane. I just certified it. I have no idea how I'd respond to that. What does your DH say?!

My DH can't deal with her b/c she makes him so angry, I am the "middleman" with them. We are sorta expecting an "I'm pregnant" announcement to "top" us bring DS to meet the family.

I think I am just going to ignore her for the time being. They all are due to arrive at the house on Saturday, we aren't getting there til Monday, I am pretty sure someone will have put her in her place about the potty training by then. But what stinks is that they will be int he room already and we are just coming in and setting up.

Oh yeah...best part is...we are sleeping in bunk bedsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you all for the support, it really means a lot to meChat Icon

OMG Kate...Did you tell them about the Kazoo's?

I swear I cant wait till you get back just for the stories.

I would relaly tell her " listen, If you know how to keep my 3 month old from waking up, please share the tips with me"...but " HOW can you expect him to sleep according to your schedule?"

I would tell her "I'll take care of my kid. You take care of yours." Having the room first doesn't mean it's YOUR room.

I agree with the others - she's nuts.

She nuts! and I tend to think it will be her child waking your baby during naps and possibly even at night. She may be going to bed after you and lets face it, she could wake your baby up too. What nerve!

So basically, this is her and dh's vacation, and they deserve to sleep - so what is the harm in you watching her Sophie if your ds wakes her in the night?

Sorry, I think she sounds so completely self centered its ridiculous! I mean WOW!!!!!!!

Is there anyway you and DH can just get a hotel room? I know his family may not be thrilled about it, but maybe you can just explain that you wouldn't want DS disturbing ( Chat Icon ) anyone. and you would just feel more comfortable with a little bit of privacy.

I would love to. But no. This is one of those tiny islands where they build HUGE houses for people to rent. There is NOTHING else to stay in (well, maybe a B&B in town, which is about 45 minutes away) and to add on to that, I don't think we could swing it financially.

She is really on like 45 on a scale of 1-10. I woke up to a text asking me "where they freak in the Christmas music lyrics?". So I wrote back "on google" and I haven't heard from her sinceChat Icon

At least this thread is entertainingChat Icon

She's a wackjob. I don't think a 45 on a scale of 1-10 does her justice, unless you left off the "billion" after it. Chat Icon

I can't believe she's going to sleep in a bunk bed...I picture her REQUIRING a king size for herself with lots of fluffy pillows all around...Chat Icon

Can I tell a quick story? We went skiing with her and her DH and they were hanging out in our room and he PUKED in there and they didn't offer to switch with us! It was a b&b, so there weren't any extra roomsChat Icon (I asked!)

I really appreicate all of the support. I am hoping that once we get there she may have chilled out a little and we can just get along as best we can.

OH and PS-Her DH snores like a diesel engine, so maybe HE should get up with the babies if they wake up

Re: asjhfkshksh. She strikes again!

ok, seriously, your SIL is a nutjob with what sounds like a matching DH!!!

See if anyone will let you borrow some camping gear. I've stayed in tents that were bigger than my bedroom at home! Most of them have room for a queen size air-mattress. Set up camp in the backyard and sleep without the disturbance of her DH's snoring! And make sure you tell them you're doing this so that her DH doesn't wake your babyChat Icon Chat Icon

I hope you have a great vaca!!!
