Associating teething pain with sleeping? Very Long
DD is 20 months old- and is in the middle of getting 4 molars in at the same time. I can only imagine how much it hurts!
She's had trouble sleeping lately. Two nights ago, she woke up at 2am crying. We brought her into our bed to calm her down- and she ended up falling asleep with us- so we just kept in her bed with us.
Then last night, she would not go to bed. We let her cry in her bed for 30 minutes. CIO doesn't work. She is way too determined for it- and has no problem screaming "mommy" for an hour to get me to come up there (believe me we've tried).
We broke out all the stops- including a car ride. She fell asleep in the car- and when I went to put her in her crib, she woke up screaming "No No NO."
I asked her what was wrong and she said she was "scared of pain."
So, I gave her some motrin, and a teething ring, and an ice cube. So a few hours later (9:30pm at this point)- and I got her to fall asleep in my arms- and when I went to put her in her room, she started freaking out the second I put her in her crib. So, I picked her up AGAIN.
This time, I asked her what was wrong- and she said that she was "scared to sleep."
DH turned a bright night lite on thinking maybe she is getting scared of the dark- but I honestly feel like maybe she's too young for that.
She finally tuckered herself out at 11pm in our bed- and I let her sleep for a little bit before I peacefully and successfully transferred her into her crib.
I'm so frustrated! Does anyone have any insight?

Re: Associating teething pain with sleeping? Very Long
My DD is 16 months old and at her last dr appt a few weeks ago, the dr mentioned that nightmares could be starting aroud this age. Maybe that could be it?
Btw - DD has multiple molars coming in as well...not fun!
