asthma moms. cough question please
He has had a dry, hard cough since late last night.
I gave him inhaler once this morning...he's trying to nap now with humidifier on, still dry coughing.
should I wake him for inhaler again?
he's never really had a cough before...just the day before he was admitted in hospital, and that was more of a cough like he was choking on something he put in his mouth.
please help me I am losing it.
last time, an alien looked like it was trying to escape from his stomach from heavy breathing, he doesn't have that right now.
dr is nervous I am going to overuse inhaler, so I am trying hard not to do so.

Re: asthma moms. cough question please
Its hard because that is the exact cough my son will get. We call it the asthma cough. Usually he lands up on the neb. Call the ped if you're not sure. At least you will know for the next time.

Re: asthma moms. cough question please
What kind of an inhaler does he use? My doc said that even with a spacer, kids aren't really able to use inhalers sucessfully until about 4 or 5 years of age.
Does he take the neb also?
Any other signs of a cold/coxsackie otherwise?
It could be unrelated to asthma. Emily coughed quite a bit the 2nd time she got coxsackie.

Re: asthma moms. cough question please
he has the spacer. since it only happened once so far, they did not send me home with nebulizer. he was put on steroids for the week instead...went back to office, wheeze was gone.
his belly isn't out of control at all, just this cough. hopefully its unrelated.
thanks!
