Re: at home birthday party question

We always have a lot more adults then kids at our parties. Our at home parties are typically between 7-10 kids and about 25-30 adults.

I've had 3 at home kids parties. When my daughter turned one just about all of the kids there were only 1 also so we didn't really do any entertainment. We did have a pin the nose on Elmo game. And then I just had some kids shows going on the tv that they watched and danced around to. At that party we served pizza.

DS has had his 1st and 2nd party at home. By that time all of the kids were around 4 so for entertainment we played typical kids games, hot potato, musical chairs, freeze dance, water balloons, run through the sprinklers, etc. We also have all of our outdoor toys out, like ride on cars, play houses, etc. For food we did heros and salads for the adults and chicken nuggets for the kids.

For his 2nd birthday we did the same type of games and we also have a bouncer now so we blew that up. We served pizza for the kids and we did a bbq for the adults.

I should also say that for the games we gave away little prizes each time, like water guns, frisbees, etc. Every kid got a prize by the end of the day. We also always set up a tattoo station.

I am currently planning his 3rd birthday at home and I am sticking to the same ideas. I am considering getting a big bouncer for this year because now the older kids are 6 and 7 and I just don't think they would be that comfortable in the bounce we have, but we'll see. If I don't do that I may do a cotton candy machine just to change something up. For food we are probably doing pizza and some trays of Italian food. It will depend on how the weather is looking as we get closer (his birthday is the end of May).

Hope that helps you a little.
