At home hair dye
Anyone every use this and have any recommended brands?
I want to dye my hair after the baby is born and I'm sick of paying salon prices.

Re: At home hair dye
i use clariol natural insticts. its not perm, last 30 washes...i have a ton of hair and always use the 2 boxes.
i am also not an everyday hair washer so it lasts forever.

I use this one as well. It's really the only non-perm one I can ever find in the stores but I love it!

Re: At home hair dye
I've used Feria and Garnier Nutrisse and I got great results with both. The color was definitely deeper initially with the Feria but they both faded slightly to the color on the box.

Re: At home hair dye
For me, I feel you can't go wrong with Feria!! I didn't like Revlon Colorsilk at all but I know many people love it, so I guess it depends on hair type?

Re: At home hair dye
None of the drugstore stuff covered my grey for more than 2 weeks and I always needed to buy 2 boxes worth.
So at Sally's I get "L'Oreal for stubborn greys" and mix it myself. Now I can get 4-5 weeks and it's 4 bucks.

Re: At home hair dye
I used Garnier Nutrisse last time. I liked the results and for $5 (with a coupon) you can't beat the price. I used to get it colored professionally every 6 weeks. It is the 5 week mark tomorrow and I probably need to use it again. The regrowth is hardly noticable, but there are a few stubborn silvery ones that I can see at my parting.

me too - and Feria is definitely good if you're going red. Red fades a lot quicker and they have a good rich color. Garnier Nutrisse was good for me also
both times i dyed my hair a dark burgandy color

Re: At home hair dye
It's more expensive, like $30, but I used Federic Fekkai color a bunch of times and really liked it. I also have used Perfect 10 By Clairol and have been happy.

Re: At home hair dye
imo as a stylist.... feria is the hardest hardest hardest to get out if you ever want to change colors... its a nightmare and can cost alot of money for corrective color in a salon.
just wanted to put that out there to save ya all money in the long run,,even though feria looks nice at first!

No matter what color i go for when i use Feria, it always has a brassy orangy tint to it. I've been using Perfect 10 By Clairol and have been happy with it !
