At home hair dye
I don't know anything about at home hair dyes. Are they decent?
I have to get rid of old highlights and I don't want to pay for dying at a salon. Money is tight.
Can you recommend a product?
TIA

Re: At home hair dye
I just started dying at home again and I used Loreal Preference and I love it.
I went to Target in Copiague and they had this really cool computer thing in the hair dye aisle. I put in my hair color, that I was looking for grey coverage and some other info and they gave me several color and brand options to choose from. I went with one of the ones they suggested. I thought it was going to be way too light but it was perfect! So, if you're not sure, maybe you can find a target with that computer.

Re: At home hair dye
I've been using Loreal Creme Gloss. It's a rinse and fades in 28 washes which is great! I've noticed that Herbal Essence has come out with a rinse now too! I might check it out next time I dye my hair..

Is this new? I wonder if this is the one I was talking about, not Herbal Essence?

Is this permanent color? I'd love to try it but I get so nervous using permanent color.

I'm a fan of L'Oreal's "Healthy Look" (was ColorSpa). It's a semi-permanent.

I use Natural Instincts semi-permanent, and I'm not sure about dying over other dye, but it did cover the one gray hair I have (that I know of so far ) - the directions say to leave it on a little longer for stubborn grays.
