At what age did you start "solids"
Some people have asked me and the ped never said anything yet....gotta go to a different doc in the practice, the last one tells you nothing,....
When did you start cereal?

The ped gave me the okay at 4 months but I wanted to wait until 6. But...at around 5 months he started staring at us while we ate and smacking his gums  so by 5.5 months I started him on cereal (oatmeal) and soon introduced veggies.

Our ped had us start @ 3 months. It was-
3mos cereal
4mos fruit
5mos veggies
6mos meats
9mos table food.

DS is 5.5 months and he has not started yet. I am assuming at the 6 month visit the ped will talk to us about starting him then.

At DD three month visit yesterday, Doc said we will be starting her on cereal at next visit... which is the fourth month :)

ds is 4.5 months and we just started offering him cereal. we had wanted to wait until 6 months, but he is just hungry ALL the time and is taking insane amounts of breastmilk and formula (35+ ounces a day!).

We started at 3.5 months. He is on Oatmeal & apples currently....& he LOVES it.
Our Ped started us on cereal b/c he was already drinking 6 oz every 3 hours & he was sitting up & with good head control.

Ped had us start cereal at 4 months. I will prob. start fruit and veggies soon (he is almost 5 months) because he really drools over my DH and my food.....it makes me fell bad, LOL

same EXACT thing here.....Gavin is up to almost 6.5 oz every 3-4 hours......he drinks over 35 oz a day!!!!
I guess we'll start in a few weeks......
I'll miss just giving him bottles though, so easy..
My little man is growing up....

Our Ped said 4 months, but I waited until 6 months. I saw no need in starting earlier than 6 months.

We started at 4 months and had no problems, he is 6 months now and is eating solid foods (rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, carrots and sweet potatoes) 3x a day and taking in about 21-24ozs of formula. He can go much longer between meals now because I feel like he is more satisfied.

One ped in the practice said 3 month. HIS ped said "when he is ready".
He was ready by 6 months which when we wanted to start. He got sick and was not allowed to start any kind of food while sick. So we really started at 6.5 months.

Sydney just started solids last weekend - she was 6 months & 1 week old.
eta: I gave her mashed bananas (which I mashed myself) and skipped the cereal altogether.

Our PED def believes in the study no solids before 6 months.
So we started at 6 months with both girls. For me, there's was no rush.

My ped suggests cereal at 4 months. So I started it at around 4.5 months. 5 months is rec. for fruits and veggies. Just started green beans yesterday.
