At what age did your DC say their first word?
Just wondering...DS is 7 months & is a chatterbox but not with actual words. I was just wondering since some books say he should be saying "Ma-Ma or Da Da" already!

Benjamin started chatting around that age (7 mos) but didn't say his first word (Da Da) until he was almost 11 mos old. Some of what I read said he should be saying words sooner. However, he started stringing words together at 15 mos and full sentences by just before 18 mos. He'll be 3 in June.
Ethan will be 1 year old later this month and he started chatting around 8 mos and saying Ma-mum and Da-da at around 10 mos.

DD is just about 8 months and I was wondering the same. She "talk" an awful lot but doesn't actually say anything.

James was 7 months on Saturday and started saying "mum mum" while looking at me about 2 weeks ago. He doesn't say it to DH, only when he's looking at me of if I'm holding him.
IDK if it's his first "word", though....

at 6 months he said mama, Ana, dada and baba clearly and appropriately

about 6 mos we were getting DaDa
now at 8.5m, nothing else but babble. No MaMa sounds at ALL.
he just exclaims "Eh!" all the time like an old italian man.

She said dada at 6 months and then nothing else until almost a year.
