At what age will you (did you) put DC into preschool?

Not that I need to decide this right now, but just wondering when you all (plan to) put your DC into preschool.

I can't decide between 2 and 3 years old.

Andrew just started and he is 2. It is only 2 days a week for 2 hrs perfect for him. He told me he loved it when I picked him up today and showed me what he had drawn for me

DD just turned 2 and she started nursery school this week. If she wasn't such a wired toddler I probably would have waited another year but she since she is non-stop and loves to be around her peers I thought it was the right fit for her at this age. So far it seems to be working out well. She goes 2 days a week for 2.5hrs a day.

My DS started at 3. He went 4 days a week for 3 hours each day. Now at 4, in Pre-K, he goes 4 days a week for 3 hours, and on Fridays he is there from 9-2.

My DD will also start at 3.

While they both could have started at 2 (and it was super tempting to send DD this year at age 2 to have some me time), I didn't think they were ready for it and I really think it just came down to the fact I wanted them to be home with me at such a young age since I am a SAHM anyway.

I would start DD into the 2 1/2 year old class, but she's a December baby and by the time she can start she'll be just shy of her 3rd birthday.

DD is 2 and going 2x a week for 2.5 hours.

As of right now Caden will go to Pre-K so he'll be just 4....

Whether or not he'll go to nursery school is still up in the air....

my twins went to nursery school at 3 and then pre-k at 4..

My eldest daughter was in early intervention so she was going to school since she was 19 months old.

DS is in a private daycare and the day is very structured. Its a lot like nursery school so I will not send him until its time for Pre-K. Also, the cost of daycare and pre-k and I know we will most likely have a second in daycare by that time.

DD is starting next week. She's almost 2 and will be in a 2-year-old program 2x a week for 1.5 hours. For her we thought it would be appropriate for some separation from us and also socialization.

The one I want her to go to starts at 2 years & 10 months, so I voted for 3 years b/c it was closest

I have a looong way to go to make a definite decision but ideally, next year when he is two I would like to see a p/t separation class (2-3 per hours- 3 days per week)

I put other because I am not sure yet. It's either 2 or 3.

my DS started this week 2x a week 2.5 hrs a day

he wil be 3 in december..

I have to actually pick him up to get him to leave and then he cries, he LOVES it!

Ella was 2 in June. I was thinking of sending her this fall, but I didn't. I'm now considering January for a few hours a week to get some socialization.

DD started at 22 months (I had another baby and was working from home and needed some time)...

It was the best decision I ever made!

I'm thinking of enrolling DS next September. He'll be about 2 and a half (turning 3 in Jan of 2010 ).
I was going to start him in Jan of 2009 (before his 2nd bday), but, I'm going to wait for the "new" school year to begin.

DS is in a Toddler program (not daycare) that is for 15 - 24 mo olds. There is a school program in the AM and an extended program in the afternoon. Depending on how he handles it I might put him in a private school Pre-K when he is 3.

I just started my 3 year old this week. I think its perfect timing. Not to scare anyone, but I drop her off after all the mothers have left the 2 year old class. Some of those kids cry so hard they hyperventilate.

DS is starting next month at 2.5 (school rules) and I went back and forth with putting him in. Part of me felt like a bad mom because I knew a lot of people who felt it was young but at the same time I knew he really needed it. He interacts so well with kids so I thought he would thrive in a school setting. He can't wait to go.

I just started my son yesterday, he will be 2 in November. It is only 2 hours-2 days a week, and so far he loves it!

ETA: None of the children cried when I left yesterday. I was there the whole 2 hours in the waiting area, you could hear everything.
