At what age would you say your DC became independent?

At what age would you say your DC became independent?
and actually sat down to watch a movie or would sit with you to color or draw? or that you can just leave alone while you go in the next room.
Just curious.

I can cook in the kitchen and my kids will play or "help" me cook at age 2.

DS turned 2 about 2 weeks ago and he's been pretty independent for a long while now (almost a year) playing in his playroom for short periods of time. Right now he can play alone for up to 30 min (with me watching and popping in here and there). If he's really engaged, he can play longer.
