Stupid question.....is it ok to put plywood down in your attic to store things?
I had a basement growning up, so I have no clue

Re: attic/crawl space for storage?
My new half of the attic has plywood over the entire floor of the attic. As long as there is enough insulation in the ceiling, you can do that. If you have deep enough ceiling joists to get R-30 insulation, then you can put flooring down. The old half of the house doesn't have joists that are deep enough, so we really can't put plywood down unless we add more height to the beams.

I have no clue. It's new construction, so I assume it's insulated? It's time to ask our neighbors for more home help

I have never been up there, but I know it's got insullation in it, my DH would like to someday take out the pink and put in the foam stuff you spray in. One side of the house he said as the AC/heat pipes but the other side is empty and that's the side I wanted to use for storage.

It's definitely insulated, but if the insulation is higher than the attic floor beams, you can't put flooring down. If the insulation is at the same height as the attic floor beams, then you can put the flooring down.
