Autism SUCKS
and BLOWS!
We planned a big family trip today to the Bronx Zoo. My parents, my siblings and their children and me - we walk in and my nephew ( who has autism ) just totally freaks out and decides he doesn't want to be there so my sister has to take him home and that was the end of that. . . .they both missed out on a fun day bc something just didnt sit well with him ( he was fine once he got in the car ).
My sister feels guilty NOT including him in our outings but then when she does, it doesn't work out! She can't win!!

DS doesn't have Autism, but he has a very deep stubborn streak. We have many cases where we have something fun planned (that he loved the last time we did it), but for some reason, he's playing a power struggle, and refuses. I understand how hard it is for everyone else around.....

My brother has autism. He used to throw a fit if you tried to take him out of the house. Things got better once he got older. I know how you feel though.
