Babies R Us Registry Questions

Ok, so I went looking this weekend w/my mom. I already know what I want to register for.

Does Babies R Us not carry the graco contempo highchairs in the store??? They didn't have any on display is Bohemia. Isn't that weird being it gets rave reviews AND is a pretty common one.

If you saw items on clearance with red stickers, would you still register for them? The jumper DH feel in love with is now on clearance. My mom said if that's the case she'll buy it pretty soon. Just wanted to double check.

We plan on registry at Buy Buy Baby as well for nursery decor and possibly some other odds and ends, but there prices are insane for similar items like a highchair/travel system/etc.

Would you still register for a highchair that was only available online?? I feel that sort of item would cost a lot to ship.

I would register for the high chair that I wanted. Period. I'm pretty sure BRU wont let you register for a clearance item. It wont scan. I would just pick up the jumper. Good luck!

i registered for a couple of things that were only available online, i didn't get any of them for my shower. i say reigster for them, and if you don't get them, then you can always pick them up yourself.

keep in mind that if the other items are on clearance because they are being discontinued you may run into a problem if the item breaks later on (but don't listen to me because i did the same thing with my stroller )

I actually found that for some of the items, BBB was cheaper by at least $5 than BRU. The diaper bag I registered for went up in price at BRU, the baby bathtub was more expensive at BRU. So I made sure to check the prices of everything at both stores and registered for it wherever it was cheaper.

I would register for clearance items with the understanding that I may not get it. If it was something I really wanted, then I would just buy it.

We went to register this past week and I honestly feel like both stores have slim pickings when it comes to pnp's, highchairs, and swings. After all my research, I feel that I may end up buying some stuff on my own b/c it's only available on-line.....oh well......


If people live out of state then they would have to order on-line, but besides that I doubt they would.

If you find something you like, you can always modify your registry online. Then if someone (out of state or an online shopper) looks at it online, they can buy it from there. Worth a shot if it's something you really want

Register for what you want, even if it is only online. Some people might prefer to shop that way. If you wind up not getting it, you can always purchase it yourself.

As far as BBB is concerned, they tend to be a little more costly for some items, but they also have some items that BRU doesn't have. I registered for a stroller at BBB because BRU doesn't carry it. We'll see what happens.

If it's a clearance item, it's probably being discontinued. BRU likely won't let you register for it. When we went to register, there were a few items that didn't have a barcode so we couldn't register for them.

One of the strollers we want is only available online. I assume the pattern in the store was being discontinued since there was no barcode. There are several (nicer) patterns that are only available online, but I hope that at least one of the patterns is going to be carried in the store. If not, I'll take the chance that we may end up buying it ourselves.

thanks, I just know as a shopper I would hate buying something heavy online (due to shipping costs).

Unfortunetly, I don't have any out of towners (with the exception of 1 friend in FL and some family in AZ, who will send clothing).

I know for my bridal shower majority of the gifts were bought at the stores. I'll add on the highchair knowing its only available online. That's it, everything else I want available in the stores too.

I would add the highchair.

We always throw showers for girls in the office that are
pregnant and we always purchase it on-line. Just makes it easier for everyone.

As for the item that's being discontinued I would just
purchase that myself.

Just remember - you will get sooooooo many gift certificates that if you can always go back and order the highchair (etc.) if you don't get it at your shower

We registered at both BRU and BBB, I would just go ahead and buy the jumper that you love since it is on clearance. There was this horse jumper DH loved at BRU that was on clearance a couple weeks ago so we just bought it.

For the highchair, I would just register for it although it's only available online. That happened to me with our pack and play, the colors I want are only available for online and not in store purchase.
