Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

Ok since I'm on bedrest I figured I would start doing some research on some items.

Initially I was planning on having 2 pack and plays one in our bedroom for them to sleep together in until we move them to their room and then another for the living room.

Where did you have or will you have them sleep initially?

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

i put my girls in their crib together from the first day home, no room in my room for any pack and play and my bedroom is literally 3 steps away from theirs

eta they ended up spending many a night in their bouncy seats or swings in the living room

now at 3 months they are always in their crib

2 bassinets. We bought one and borrowed one from my brother and SIL. They were at the foot of our bed.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

i have 2 PNP's .. they slept in one together in our room when they were born.
and i have the other downstairs for naps, and thats our travel one also.

we are still working on their nursery, so they have no cribs yet.. but once they do they will be sleeping in there for now on.

but they went 4 months with sleeping in both PNP's !

This is what we are doing also...they spent the first week downstairs in that PNP because we had my mom and DH's mom helping us, so we took shifts. This week, they have been napping downstairs (in the PNP or bouncees) and sleeping upstairs in the PNP in our room. It seems to be working well, so far.

i had a big old fashioned bassinet that they slept in together in my room. they were peanuts so they fit in that for a few months. then they went into their cribs.

My kids came home separately.

They went right into their cribs.

For the first 2 months it was easier if I moved into their room. The room is large so it fit the two cribs and an old queen sized bed.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

I registered for the twin pack and play so they will be in that in the begininng. Then when they go into their room I'll probably keep them in the same crib for a little while and then eventually they will each be in their own crib. Not sure at what point all this is going to happen, just going to play that by ear.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

For the first week or two, they slept in the same bassinet. Then for a month or so they would only sleep in the bouncy seat. When they were around 6 weeks we transferred into the crib. They were in the same crib until they started rolling around at about 6 months.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

We bought bassinets and cribs. They spent about 1 week in their bassinets. Didn't last. We tried their cribs----didn't work either.

They have slept in their bouncy seats ever since. We now put their bouncy seats in their cribs and hopefully we'll be able to transition them into their cribs soon.

Hey....whatever works, right?

(We do have a PNP on the 1st floor but we use that mostly to change their diapers and as storage for extra clothes, bibs, etc on the 1st floor.)

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

Mine ended up using the twin pack and play and slept in the bassinet part. I loved it. That was till like 6 weeks or so...then they were in the same crib till about 11 weeks, then in seperate cribs as they'd wake each other up, they rolled early and would be all over the crib.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

Mine sleep together in a bassinet or pack & play. I am a big fan of putting babies right into the own room and cribs, but since we are in the process of moving we don't have a room set up for them. We are moving next week and they will go into their own cribs, they will be 1 month old.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

I had a round bassinet they slept in for about 10 weeks or so. Then they slept in their boucies for a few weeks because they had RSV and one of my boys had reflux. They went in their cribs at about 4 months.

Re: Babies sleeping arrangements early on?

Straight to crib, one crib which they are still in together.

Room is directly across from us.

PNP for times that we arent upstairs.
