Babies with sensitive/dry skin
My little one (3months old) has very sensitive skin (and a little dry now) and I was wondering for those that have the same problem, what baby products do you use?
I have been using Mustela products and some other organic stuff from Whole Foods but I am not fully 100% happy with them (she still gets a little red).
Are there any products that still smell nice but are very mild on the skin??
TIA!!!!

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
I use Arbonne Baby products on DD#2, who has eczema and severe allergies to everything it seems...she hasn't had a reaction so far...the pediatrician said I can use Aveno products, but I like the Arbonne better.

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
I was using J&J products. DD started getting dry patches on her legs when the weather turned cold so I switched to Aveeno Baby Moisture Cream Soothing relief (the wash and cream). It has been wonderful, her skin is perfect.

As per our peditrician, we use Aveeno Baby Sensetive Skin/Fragrance Free. Its worked wonders. My DS too gets incredibly dry.

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
I normally use Aveeno which is great, but DD has had very dry skin on her legs and it just wasn't helping at all.
We started using Aquaphor and there has been such an improvement in 3 days! Still some dryness on her legs, but nothing as bad as it was.
Her pediatrician also recommended leaving her skin moist after a bath to help the aquaphor keep the moisture in her skin.
HTH!

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
Anita, the Burts Bees lotion may irritate her skin. I HIGHLY recommend using Aquaphor. Michael has an extremely sensitive skin and I use it as a diaper rash cream after each change and it works wonders! Its like Windex for Greeks!!!! LOL

DS has eczema and very sensitive skin. Both our ped and dermatologist recommended bathing in Cetaphil and putting Aquaphor on afterwards. So far so good!

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
I always used Aveeno baby products on DD since she was a baby. Her skin got very dry this winter. I took her to the derm. and he gave us CERAVE moisturizer to use and it is great. I use the one with blue label (they also have green) You can order online or buy at Walgreens . It's like 12$. I used to babysit a little girl who had a very bad case of eczema and she also used the same moisturizer bc the DR . told them to.

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
Right now, I use the Aquaphor baby wash and cream. I also used California Baby Sensitive Skin, no fragrance wash, but it was $$$.
Both work well. He also generally only gets a bath every 3 days or so this time of year.

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
first off, my ped said bathing too frequently really irritates baby skin.... so you might want to consider doing it less frequently... Also, making sure the soap is completely rinsed off is crutial... those 2 things have prevented Eryk's skin from getting dry and irritated....
We use baby bees bath and body wash (very little squirted into a bowl of warm water...we dip the washcloth in that and have him sitting in a tub of plain water). We rinse well, and apply baby bee's apricot oil with cotton balls all over his body and scalp.
If his cheeks get dry between baths, we apply aquaphor....

Re: Babies with sensitive/dry skin
I tried a number of washes before settling on California Baby Fragrance Free for Sensitive Skin----I found anything with fragrance did not agree with my DS. Now that he is bigger I am trying some others again as the California Baby stuff is not cheap!

My son also has eczema and this is what I do - bathe with cetaphil liquid cleanser and put Aquaphor or Cetaphil creme (it comes in a tub) on afterwards. I like the Cetaphil creme better in general, but if his skin is REALLY dry I use the Aquaphor.
