There is an update- a positive one!!!!!!!!!!! Things are looking up and doctors are hopeful!!!
This story just breaks my heart. I pray for a miracle every day. That poor baby.

Baby Easton needs all of our prayers
The up's and down's the past 2 days are heartbreaking to say the least. I have this amazing baby in my thoughts and prayers all the time.

PRAYERS NEEDED - Morning update:
From Nana:
"Easton is heading down to surgery for a dressing change to his arms(he's been bleeding.a lot) and gonna put another line in his chest he did test positive again for gram positive cocci in clusters."
From Aunt Sara:
"He's on his way down. Fluid under his lungs, called pleural effusion, was seen in chest xray. Complicates things, and will necessitate a breathing tube. Only changing his arm bandages, debridement can stir up more bacteria and things can get worse before they get better, the doc said. Putting in central line first. Very emotional morning already. Will be hours before this is done."
From Cousin Amy:
"Easton is swollen this morning...retaining fluid...he is headed to the OR now...they are only doing a dressing change bc they know the skin graphs will only get infected and slough off. He is also getting a chest xray to see what's going on with his lungs bc he is needing more oxygen. I got in late last night and spent time with my family but I will try to answer all fb messages, text and emails today and will update on baby Easton often. Xo"
Nana took this pictures this morning and said "So much love he has brought to this family."
Easton is a fighter, and every prayer or sign of support helps. On behalf of the family, THANK YOU ALL for all the Love and Support you have and are sending... We can never Thank You enough....I hope to have more after surgery...Keep praying!!

I understand for the most part about his disease but one thing I'm not clear on- is it possible for him to get past this really touch and go period and recover to some extent? I know there is no cure, but also talks of treatments, so I was just curious.

I think you're prob right. From what i have read, he just has a very severe form of this disease..the risk of infection at any time is just so high because of exposure.
It's heartbreaking to read about. I've been checking for updates on him since I've known about it, and it makes me so upset. No child should ever have to endure that kind of pain and the amount of procedures he's already had to go through...

I agree. I was reluctant to share the page on facebook at first because it was so upsetting. I set up a fundraiser and after my boss got done making the page she was bawling as well.

I pray for a miracle but I also pray for him to pass on and be pain free if that is what his life will be. It breaks my heart every time I log in and see an update. No child should have to suffer like that. He draws you in and you just want to love on him and kiss him. Life just isnt fair :(

UPDATE FROM AUNT SARA :
"Easton did good! Minimal bleeding, they only had to spray a few spots on his arm to stop bleeding, no cauterizing. He'll get his breathing tube out today. His new central line is in. They don't expect it to last long, and they do think it will get infected, but one thing at a time, and today he did good.
We came up from the surgical waiting room to a HUGE meal from Buca's. All kinds of pasta, salads, bread. Enough to share with a few different families in the waiting room! There was also a ton of homemade food in beautiful thirty-one bags and a cute picnic basket, with the yummiest cream cheese/pumpkin cupcakes! Y'all who are bringing food, buying food, preparing food....my family is just floored with gratitude. Even the staff here at the NICU is blown away by the steady stream of love in action, and you truly bless us all. Thank you thank you thank you.
Thank you to the kind folks who have helped out with rooms as well. I can't even tell you how stressful that can be. Hard enough to get here, then deal with what's going on at the hospital, so to have to worry about where you lay your head that night is stressful. And when we have family members and friends who want to see Easton, when we live so far away, it's really hard to do without staying at least one night. So bless you if you have helped in this respect. We're still hoping Jared and Danielle can get into the Ronald McDonald house soon. And we'd like to keep a room at the Hampton Inn just for family out of town and such, but we'll see how it goes. It's creating strange bedfellows but we're having a great time getting to know each other's smelly shoes better. :o)
I just feel grateful he made it out. I really hope we get to see Easton come home, be present at one of these events that we decide to make annual to help out ALL EB kids, in the future. I hope he gets a cure more than anything else. And I hope it blesses you all to hear this good news, to praise God for mercy and the kindness and love of strangers, and to know that your giving is helping other families too. Having more than enough, plenty to share, is really amazing. Thank you all. Just overflowing with love for you all."
