My cousins baby needs TONS OF PRAYERS PLEASE IF YOU CAN SPARE!
Laides i swear by the power of prayer these boards have it helped my father just about 2 years ago when he had his heart attack and now im calling on you again! Im not an overly religious person but i have tons of faith so even if your not religious please keep my cousin in your thoughts!
heres the readers digest version of their story... Baby Hope (thats her name it suits her well!) at 20 weeks was found to have a large tumor on her spine (im sorry i forget the right medical term for it, but its a tumor made of hair, teeth, nail, and skin) Its very rare. Due to its location it mkes it extremely difficult to operate. They are seeing specialist in Philly. They had 2 other cases like this and the youngest baby to survive was 28weeks gestation. Well baby hope has been a fighter all along and looks as though shes starting to show some signs of distress (heart failure is very common!) the tumor is growing VERY VERY rapidly! and they will need to do immediate surgery after she is born. The risks of surgery are very scary and could possibly leave this little princess paralyzed! but theres also a good chance she will be a fighter and be ok! We are praying for the best but looks like she will be arriving some time next week (im pretty sure she will be just about 28 weeks by then!)
So please say a prayer, keep baby hope in your thoughts we really need a mircale for this little peanut!

I, too, believe in the power of prayer and everyone on these boards helped me out tremendously with my DD (very rough pregnancy)...
We gave her the middle name of Faith!
We had Faith that all will be OK.

I know someone with a similiar story.
Is the tumor inside the baby or growing next to the baby? The story I know of is that it was growing next to the baby like it would be a twin to the baby. It was feeding off the mother like it was another baby taking away the nutrients from the actual baby.

Thanks joanna! but i think the poster is correct the most common cause of this tumor is a failed twinning i read that somewhere. which is why its growing so rapidly if im not mistaken
