Baby growing one week ahead
so does this mean that my due date is obviously one week ahead too?
The doctor says it's totally fine.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
my baby is measuring a few days ahead of my due date, but they said they won't change the due date. it's just an approximation of when the baby will come anyway.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
how far along are you? are you in the beginning? maybe it was a miscalculation?
my baby was measuring on point the entire pregnancy but is now 3 weeks behind in weight gain so sometimes it happens...maybe it works the other way too?

I was going to ask these questions as well.
SOMETIMES this can happen also due to GD. IDK if that's something you have or not or have been tested for yet.... but I know GD's can have baby's that measure ahead of time. My one friend's baby was measuring about a week ahead and she ended up having GD.

I am 17 weeks as of tomorrow. I don't have gestational diabetes either. Is that what you meant by GD? lol
Gestational diabetes i should be tested between week 25-28 however, it also doesn't run on either side so... IDK..

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
My little guy was measuring 2 weeks ahead from the very beginning....plus his growth sonos predicted a 10+lb baby. He was born at 40w4d at 8lbs 8oz.
Everything is an approximation!

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
my dd #1 was measuring 4 weeks ahead from around 24 weeks. they Never changed my due date and low and behold she arrived 3 weeks early due to high blood pressure complications. They dont usually change your due date for 1 week. some babies are just on the bigger side

yes that's what i mean by GD.
I have GD and it doesn't run on either side for me either.
I just know it's one reason for larger babies or babies that are ahead in size. And yea they usually don't test until a little later on.
When my friend was measuring a week ahead they tested her early for it and she had it.
I'm not saying you have GD or anything like that... but that was a factor and a red flag for early testing with my friend.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
No. Due dates are only an estimate. And 1 week ahead or behind will have no effect. DS1 measured 3 weeks ahead my entire second half of the pg. No change in due date and he didn't come early.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
Once your past a a certain point your due date doesn't change even if the baby is measuring ahead or behind. My baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead but my due date is still 8/26, not that i will make it there.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
Most Drs will agree that your due date is +/- two wks. I am also measuring one week ahead and since I am a repeat c-section I could move it up if I wanted too but bc of scheduling reasons I'm keeping it the same. We are moving in July and need the extra week to get settled.
Like pp everything is an approximation.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
DS was measuring two weeks bigger my entire pregnancy and I was six days overdue when I still didn't go into labor and I had a c-section so doesn't necessarily mean your baby will come early.

Re: Baby growing one week ahead
Both my Ds s were 1-2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy. I just have big kids (nearly 10lbs for both).
in neither case did they change my due date. DS #1 was born on his EDD via scheduled c/s and DS #2 was 1 week early also via scheduled c/s.
