baby kicks wont let me sleep
He can go for hours at a time, kicking, taping, poke here and there. I can't sleep through it sometimes. Its not painful, but I can't figure out what to do to keep him still for just a few hours while I sleep.
Any ideas?

Soft baby music and put the headphones on them. That worked for DS. That or I got up and walked around the house for ten minutes and he would usually go to sleep. HTH

Re: baby kicks wont let me sleep
I couldnt sleep through it either most times. The worst is when the baby gets the hiccups at 2-3am. That really kept me up, which seems to be happening very often.

I put my hand where she is kicking and tell her to stop. That tends to work because she is probably worried daddy is trying to feel for her and she likes being stubborn!

I tried that, but my little monkey loves to impress his daddy already
DH sleeps on my left side, and I swear, when I lay down, I feel the baby shifting to the left and kicking, like he knows daddy is there. DH puts his hand on my belly and then the show really starts. So after a while DH rolls over and falls asleep, baby keeps going.

my does this too. he actually kicks me "awake". i tend to rub my belly and speak very calmly to him asking him to take a nap and it works 9 out of 10 times.
i hope it works when he is outta me too!

Re: baby kicks wont let me sleep
I find that my little only likes when I sleep certain ways.
He HATES when I sleep on my left side and he'll kick up a STORM when I do! He prefers that I sleep on my right side (which is painful for me because that's the side where I have a bulging disk... but it's the only way I get this kid to sleep!)
Also sometimes having DH put his hand on my belly calms - or just trying to turn different ways, use different positions with the snoogle, etc.

Mine kicked him twice. He tries to feel for her, that is it. She will not have any of it-her way or the highway!

Re: baby kicks wont let me sleep
I got kicked out of a sleep last night, too. is fast asleep whenever I am up and about. He kicks relentlessly when I am sitting upright on the couch (like w/ my comp on the coffee table) and a lot while I'm in bed.
What happened to the whole, "rest while you can" thing? lol.
