Re: baby measuring a week behind
That probably isnt that big of a deal especially if you saw the heartbeat!!! If you saw the heartbeat that is always a GREAT sign!
You are basing it on your LMP but that doenst take into account when you actually ovulated. If you ovulated late, you might be measuring alittle behind.
Try not to worry yourself!

Re: baby measuring a week behind
Don't worry, the same exact thing happened to me but my cycle is 33-34 days so basing it on LMP probably wasn't 100% accurate. I thought I was 8 weeks and was measuring at 7. Now, at 16 weeks, I am measuring at exactly where I should be, so somehow the baby caught up a whole week and then some!

Re: baby measuring a week behind
It will catch up....Whne I was PG with my boys..Christopher was a week behind and he caught up real fast...I believe right around my 11-12 weeks they were only a day behind each other If the Dr.s dont seem to be concerned I woulndt worry

Re: baby measuring a week behind
Measurements are all over the map and not necessarily accurate. At my Level II everything measured within 2 days of where I was based on LMP. I had a growth sono 12 weeks later at 32 weeks and the baby was measuring a week behind.
I'm now at 36w4d and have too many other concerns (like furniture, car seats etc) to worry about how the baby is measuring. S/he will get her when ready.

Usually you will meaure off. It will change again at your Level II and through out your measurements.

Re: baby measuring a week behind
My measurements were behind in the beginning too. But I gave birth to an EARLY 11pound 8oz baby. Not measuring behind by the end! The heartbeat is a great sign!!

Re: baby measuring a week behind
not not too worry too much. it could easily be that you ovulated differently than you thought, etc. as long as you saw the heartbeat and things looked healthy, then you're good

Re: baby measuring a week behind
my DS was a week behind in the beginning, then measured average/normal till week 36 and then he was measuring a week behind again, and was born at 41 weeks at 7lbs, so they had no clue what they were talking about

Re: baby measuring a week behind
I measured a week behind every visit starting from the 8 weeks appt. I had an 8lb baby that they estimated to be more like 6 lbs so I wouldnt worry too much

Re: baby measuring a week behind
do you have longer cycles? If you do then you're actually a week behind. The same thing happened with me because my cycle is 35 days. I'm sure it will be fine.

Re: baby measuring a week behind
I wouldn't worry about it, especially if your doctors aren't concerned. Your cycle may have been off, or the original estimate was off. I'm sure your baby is fine.
