Baby Monitor with Movement/Heartbeat Sensor - Rave!

Spooks posted about baby monitors and I just have to take a minute to rave about the one we just got.

I was TOTALLY lost about which one to get. I was put off the video monitor idea when I read about how people can view your baby on their monitors. I didn't know what to get....until I went to a local babystore and learned about this one.

Here's what I love about it:

- it monitors the baby's heartbeat, breathing, and movement via a square 'mat' that goes under the baby's mattress.
- if the baby's heartbeat stops or the baby stops moving/breathing an alarm goes off to alert you
- it is digital audio (less likely to have people listening in)
- monitors room temperature via a room thermometer
- has a soft nightlight

I have heard nothing but amazing things about this monitor. It's the best selling one in Ireland.

I know it's a bit pricey, but for me, having some way to know that my baby is breathing/moving trumps everything else (even being able to see the baby via a video monitor).

I didn't even know such a monitor existed so I wanted to let everyone else know too. Chat Icon

Re: Baby Monitor with Movement/Heartbeat Sensor - Rave!

This is a great monitor - we had it with DS and will use it again with #2. It really puts your mind at ease.

You will only really be able to use the movement sensor part for a few months until the baby starts moving all over the crib, but then you can use it as a sound only monitor.

It still doesn't take the place of the video monitor IMO.
