Baby moving during early sonogram question
So Dr. Cohen will not give me partial results of my ultrascan lol only will tell me next week after the scan. Is this pretty typical? Also, I had a general growth scan today for 12 weeks and baby looks perfect BUT it didn't move again. Last sono at 10 weeks, it wiggled and that's it. This sono, she was shaking my belly and nothing. Is this normal for 12 weeks or should the baby be more active at this point? I ate a salad and drank water about an hour prior.

Baby moving during early sonogram question
Baby was likely sleeping - didn't want to be woken! I wouldn't worry, though I know you will. Tonight was a growth sono? Did they take the NT measurements?

Nope just growth measurement and HB check. They have the perinatologists do the big scans. Next Tuesday will be the big day and I'll be snooping on the measurements!

I'm SURE everything is going to be excellent. Baby is right in line where they should be for both hb and sizing. Try to relax (though I know you won't ).

Re: Baby moving during early sonogram question
At my 12 week scan the baby wasn't moving either, the tech had me drink cold water and walk around so she could finish the scan. Now at 34 weeks he is a wiggleworm.

Baby moving during early sonogram question
I have the laziest babies in the world. During my first pregnancy, I was so concerned about movement, but DS just never wanted to move. He was fine in there, but was SO uncooperative during sonos. He is now 1.5yrs old and super active - started crawling at 5 months, cruising at 6, walking at 9. He's a crazy active little climber. This baby is the same. ALL of the sonos I've gone to have frustrated the techs because they poke my belly, but DS2 will not change position! For whatever reason, my babies are lazy, but I'm not as worried with this one as with my first. Some babies are just more active in the womb. Hope this eases your mind a bit!

Re: Baby moving during early sonogram question
Thanks ladies, I feel a little better. I just see all of these you tube videos of the babies moving around like crazy and this little one is always lounging around. I had no sugar or caffeine all day so maybe that's why?

My babes barely moved at all at 12 weeks.. they move plenty now. Try not to worry. The perinatologist told me measurements when I asked

Nice, thank you. The receptionist told me they are not allowed to tell us anything and that Dr. C will call if there are bad results only. I just don't want to be in suspense for an entire 2 days. Perinatologists are their own Drs so I'm assuming they will tell me if something is wrong.

The techs are vague, but will give you a general sense. They will not tell you what it means. The report gets faxed to Dr C the next day, so you can always call for results.

Re: Baby moving during early sonogram question
At my 12 week sono with this baby I noticed how much more mellow it was from my first two! My first 2 were all over the place and this one was very calm. The tech was happy that she had a cooperative baby, got all the necessary measurements and I was done in about 15 minutes.
Each baby is different and if the tech wasn't concerned I wouldn't be either. If there was any reason to be concerned the tech would have notified your dr. You probably just have a nice calm baby

Honestly, I am a true believer that if there was something seriously wrong, the doctor wouldn't let you leave the office without telling you.

The sono tech whichever one u have with dr cohen( I noticed one is more forthcoming than the other) will tell u a general idea if all looks good, but I was not able to get any actual measurements.

Re: Baby moving during early sonogram question
I have had sonos early on where baby moved a lot, and sonos where baby didnt move at all but we saw a heartbeat.
My last 3-4 sonos they always comment on how active baby is but its probably because Kofinas has chocolates at the front desk and I eat a few while I wait to be called
