Question about very early sonogram
I know I'm being ridiculous and obsessive but today we met with our RE to discuss getting started with an IuI cycle. I told him I was currently in my 3rd cycle since my chemical. I ovulated last Wednesday (confirmed with temping). Which makes today exactly 1 week after O.
He did a transvaginal sono to check my ovaries and uterus. I didn't ask him if he would be able to detect a pregnancy this early bc I felt silly for some reason. He didn't say anything but of course now I'm wondering if that's bc he didn't see any indication of a pregnancy. I'm googling like crazy (bc that's just what I do) and I can't seem to find a clear answer as to whether or not 3 weeks is too early to detect anything.
Any insight?? I hate being so neurotic but at the same time I hate to spend another week reading into every little twinge and cramp I feel hoping we for lucky this time around.

Question about very early sonogram
1 week after ovulating and you most likely haven't even implanted yet if there was fertilization. I do not think that at 3 weeks anything would be able to be seen... you would need implantation AND development of a sac in order for there to be anything seen. I would imagine 4 weeks would be the earliest, and even then it might not always show up if you ovulated late or implanted late (implantation can occur anywhere from 6-12 days after fertilization).

Re: Question about very early sonogram
3 weeks is too early. My RE did a sonogram at 4 weeks 1 day (when he knew I was pregnant) just to look at my lining and he told us that it was too early to see anything at all. You can only see the gestational sac around 5 weeks. Hang in there

Re: Question about very early sonogram
Yes, but should my lining look a certain way? I remember with my chemical when my OB did the sono he said he didn't see a sac but that my lining was very thick indicating that there was a pregnancy forming. That was at 5 weeks tho.

Question about very early sonogram
I would not expect anything to be seen at 3 weeks. Like I said previously, I would sincerely doubt that you had even implanted yet.

Re: Question about very early sonogram
Thanks. I guess I won't give up hope just yet. Yesterday I had a dip in temp (below the coverline) so I was thinking maybe it was a good sign. Ugh, I hate how this consumes me every month. I swore I wouldn't be like this again.

Question about very early sonogram
My doctor said 3-4 weeks looks exactly the same as when you're not pregnant. So don't worry!! The beginning of a sac and thickening of the lining is later in week 4, start of 5.
