Baby Name Help

Hi ladies,

I'm team green, so looking for 2 names this time around.

DS1 and DS2 are Hunter and Tanner.

Anyone have any ideas for boys names that will "go" with these 2 names, but also not be too matchy? I don't want the third one to sound too left out.

Girls names I will get to soon lol, bc I wouldn't mind if her name was a little different.

TIA! Chat Icon

Edited to say we prefer names that aren't too common

Nope! As long as it doesn't sound too left out...

Owen is my favorite boy name. I also love the name Jackson, but it's really popular now so I probably wouldn't go with that one anymore. Other names I like are Luca, Jason, Dylan, and Logan

Thank you! So another "er" doesn't look too matchy? I love Asher and Sawyer as well! DS1 was almost Carter which we really liked but now I feel like we passed by it since we didn't choose it for him.

Is Wyler too far out there?

I think another "-er" name will sound too matchy TBH. What about Eric, Dustin, Owen, Austin, Jayden, Wyatt, Grayson, Carson or Colton? I feel like a strong two syllable name would fit really well.

Thanks! My cousin just had a baby and named him Levi Wilder, so Wilder is out for us. I figure Wyler looks different enough and its his middle name, so my cousin wouldn't be upset, and its almost like Tyler just changing one letter. I also love the nickname "Wy".

Cool names!!! Tanner was almost Xander which I would DEFINITELY use this time around, but now they kind of rhyme and we thought maybe that was confusing!? lol

Thanks for your honesty! Im definitely going back and forth on the -er, or not. Love Wyatt, Carson and Colton. I agree on the 2-syllable name idea.

I liked Christian and Caanan as well

Baby Name Help

The name list I had going was this below, and I added a few. I just don't know how important it is or is not to have the name go with the other 2 boys. I feel like it would bug me if it didn't at least go a little. I know my name choices tend to be uncommon names so that's also challenging to find a balance...

Briar
Canaan
Christian
Griffin
River
Ryder
Sawyer
Valor
Wyler
Xavier
Maddox
Colton
Jagger
Slate
Brecken
Kai
Rhett

Re: Baby Name Help

I'm in the same boat except both of my boys' names end in -n. I didn't necessarily plan it that way. We loved DS1's name and with DS2, I wanted to use an "A" name to honor my grandfather who passed away right after I found out I was pregnant. My favorite name happened to also end with an -n. We're Team Green again and I'm struggling with whether to use a name ending in -n or something completely different. I'd also like to use something that starts with "C" to honor my grandmother who passed away last year.

I really think you can go either way. I don't think it's as matchy when the ending is the same especially if you have different syllables. Easier said than done, but choose a name you love and try not to worry about how it sounds with the siblings. They're individuals and it really won't matter as they grow up how their names sound with their brothers. This is what I'm trying to tell myself too. Chat Icon
