Baby proofing
What did everyone get to baby proof their house. I want to start getting things. So far we only have a gate and the outlet plugs. I know I need the cabinet locks. What else do I need? TIA

Re: Baby proofing
We just made sure DC couldn't put themselves in the hospital. Outlet covers, gates at the stairs, and doorknob covers/locks on closets that have household poisons. We didn't go overboard with babyproofing. If you search for similar topics, you'll see that a lot of parents didn't go overboard. The world isn't babyproof, and most other houses aren't either. As long as things are dangerous, it's better for DC to learn things on their own. Both DS 3 years ago, and now DD have learned to duck their head when standing up by the table.....

Re: Baby proofing
I was just wondering the same thing! DD will be up and around soon. Does anyone cushion their table edges anymore?

I couldnt have said it better myself!
we arent parents that baby proffed every single thing around the house, Ive seen some that really go over board - then the child never learns, atleast thats how I feel.
We did the outlet plugs, gate by stairs, and locks on any cabints with posions in them. No rubber thing around table corners or those knob covers for allof the doors in the house. no toilet seat lock (we just keep the door closed and she doesnt go in there)...there are TONS of things you can buy though... we just did the few things I listed above...

Re: Baby proofing
I agree with AP's, it's better to teach the baby since the world is not babyproofed.
I only did outlet covers, a gate for my stairs and 2 cabinet locks-one for under the sink in the kitchen and 1 for under the sink on my 1st floor bathroom.
