Baby-proofing...
OK, so Bella is a multi-milestoner...she hits everything at once...since Friday she is offically crawling fast/pulling herself up to standing on her own/taking steps/talking to us...she has been kinda of doing this for months, but now she is like lightning!
It's great, but overwhelming. I feel like she knew how to do all this stuff and just decided to start messing with us...and now we have to seriously baby-proof. I did the laying on the floor thing to see what she see and we are basically SCREWED! We live in Long Beach which has no closet space/storage areas, so we are scrambling...
suggestion/ideas...?

Re: Baby-proofing...
Well, all kitchen cabinets should be locked up, as well as the bathroom. Jared loves to hide things in our oven...they make a lock for that too. We also have a table edge cover from The First Years to protect our glass table. All things on coffee or end tables should be moved.
Edited to add: This is the table cover.. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Baby-proofing...
I would definately check out onestepahead.com -- they have babyproofing items for just about every purpose!
One thing we need to get is the dvd/vcr protectors and wire covers. We have almost everything babyproofed but those are two areas that Emily loves to explore that we haven't covered yet.
Also if she's pulling herself up a lot make sure there is no furniture that could be easily tipped over or items on it that can fall off and onto her.

Re: Baby-proofing...
- Don't forget the entertainment centers and DVD/VCRs. We use our ottoman as a baracade to keep him from the entertainment center. - Also think of the door knobs, Nate is pretty tall and already reaches the door knobs trying to turn them. - Knobs for the stove - Nate tries to turn them also - Hot/cold knobs in bathtub
Getting at their eye level, helped me remove most things that were in his reach. If she spends time at a relative's home often make sure they also childproof.

Agree with everyone's recommendations. Andrew just recently broke off the on/off button of the TV. They make a protective plastic cover for that and for VCR/DVD players.
