Re: BABY SHOWER LOCATIONS (Bayside) UPDATED ON BOTTOM!!!!!!!
Posted by d-h2008 I heard RAVES about Giardinos but they want $40pp (I cant afford that)....thats out.
Sorry about that. Last time I priced them out for my wedding rehearsal dinner, they were $30/pp. I guess 4+ years makes a difference
I've never been to the other 2 places but from what I'm seeing here....I'd go Ginos based on the better food. HTH

Thanks so much... Yea the prices def. went up! Im thinking Gino's too.. even though its much more casual room, its still very nice!! And from what everyone says I trust that they have good food.
Thanks Again... making my decision tomorrow *hopefully*

I would do Gino's - more relaxed atmosphere.

Re: BABY SHOWER LOCATIONS (Bayside) UPDATED ON BOTTOM!!!!!!!
I had my baby shower and bridal shower at Verdi's and the food was good(we had the sit down). I had it in the restaurant part though because I had like 38 people.
ETA: my bridal shower got bumped up to the biggest room because the people that were supposed to have their party there cancelled-so I never had a party in the downstairs.

Re: BABY SHOWER LOCATIONS (Bayside) UPDATED ON BOTTOM!!!!!!!
I JUST went to a christening at Verdis.
I thought the place was beautiful. Def nice enough to have a wedding at. The outside was OK, but the rooms were beautiful & had a nice center dance floor, big chandeliers, cheerful waiters, mirrors everywhere (which made the room look even bigger). There were maybe 100 ppl there. Maybe more. They fit comfortably.
I got there early... the parking lot is a bit small, but I got a spot. No valet parking.
I have to say... I'm a picky eater, but the food was AMAZING. We had a sit-down service & got: passed appetizers, seafood platter, penne a-la-vodka (delish), salad, an entree (I picked eggplant which was GREAT, my family had steak which was cooked perfectly to order), and finally dessert was a really great tray of Italian pastries (also fantastic). I thought it was a LOT better than many of the much pricier wedding places that I've been to.
They had an open bar too. Drinks were strong: my family was really tipsy.

Between Gino's and Verdis, I would definitely choose Ginos. The food is great, and I feel that the atmosphere is more relaxed, something that a baby shower should be. Parking is easier around Gino's too, and that is really something you have to take in to consideration in Whitestone/Bayside.

Gino's all the way....that's where my baby shower was two yrs ago in June.....food is absolutely AMAZING i LOVE it there....i heard they are trying to make the upstairs room wheelchair accessible which means some sort of ramp or elevator is being put in and the other minus was the air conditioning upstairs was eh....im always hot and my shower was the end of June on a HOT day so even opening the terrace doors and circulating fans weren't enough.....other than those two minuses, I absolutely love that place and they couldn't do enough for me etc the day of

My baby shower was at Verdi's - the room was beautiful, the service was great, and I thought the food was really good too. If you like their room better, then I'd have dinner there one night and see what you think since people have differing tastes.
