Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
I am thinking I did too much food for the shower and want to eliminate something but am so indecisive I can't decide. Can you tell me what you think??
We have apps, I am keeping those but for the main dishes we did:
Assorted gourmet sandwiches mesculin salad (goat cheese, walnuts, cranberries) Penne Pomodora Chicken Franchese Rice Pilaf String Beans with Cashews Beef Stir fry with broc, mush, onions
I really want to keep it simple and not go over board we have 50 people replied yes but I am sure we will get a few cancels and no shows.
I feel like it's too much food and want to eliminate something, I was going to get rid of the string beans and sandwiches and my gfriend said to get rid of the beef stir fry it's more dinnery...what do you think?
Thanks girls...

I'd get rid of the beef stir fry and/or the rice pilaf. You already have a pasta so you could do without the rice and the beef stir fry just doesn't seem to "go" with the rest.

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
i'd get rid of the string beans and cashews since you've already got a good salad option and the stir fry beef.

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
Since you are having an afternoon shower & want to keep it lite (especially since it will be hot this weekend ), I say eliminate the stir fry & the rice. The sandwiches are always good & I think the string beans are a very "summery" dish.
As you know, we are shower date twins & we are doing gourmet wraps & different salads. I wanted it simple & summery especially since it is all ladies

Yes backyard afternoon shower I want to keep it lite and simple.
then yes, I'm sticking with getting rid of the string beans and stir fry. Hope we help!
ETA: We had a summer backyard for my sisters...and all we did was tea sandwiches and assorted salads, you could even be safe going that way too!

Getting very excited!!! No hot food. I figured that it would not go too much as people are usually looking for lighter in the summer & with it being an afternoon house party, it would be easier. So we are just doing all assortments of salads (cucumber, mesclin, potatoe, pasta, waldorf salad).

I would get rid of the beef and the rice.
you have sandwiches AND pasta...you don't really need any more carbs for lunch.
keep the veggies, salad, chicken and pasta.
OR
keep all the hot food and get rid of the sandwiches.

I'd get rid of the beef and rice also......the rest is light enough to keep.

Ok so beef it was. I got rid of that dish. I did keep the rice because I know for me right now carbs are my comfort food and I love rice lol!

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
beef & rice... the pasta is the starch for the chicken.. and I like the stringbeans- but I would do something other than cashews since you're taking the "asian" element away

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
I would keep it all acutally....LOL I had my shower in my yard back in May with about 50 people. I really didnt have much food left over. Here is what we had...
1 3 foot Italian hero 1 3 foot American hero
Sausage and peppers Baked Ziti Chicken Franchese Red roasted potatoes Green been with almond Tossed salad
I thought it was going to be to much but my guests ate like there was no tomorow my DH cooked it all and they all love his food. Good luck.....

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
I would prob. eliminate the sandwiches even though they sound yummy. This way people do not fill up and they have a choice of chicken or beef for main dish. Also, you have pasta and salad for appetizer so I think that is more then enough if you decide to eliminate sandwiches.

Re: Baby Shower Menu Opinions...please help
If I had to pick something off the list to eliminate I think it would be the sandwiches. I think everything else has a nice variety: a pasta, a chicken and a meat with some veggies and a salad. This way there is something for everyone
