If you didn't want to do a hot dish, I agree with the others to have a hero. Men love meat- hot or cold!

Sounds really good! I would probably not do hot because it will be hot when you have the shower.
How about pigs in a blanket also for apps-really fast and easy to make!
Otherwise, I think you covered everything!

Yup.....Men need meat it's like this weird caveman thing and chicken on a salad just won't cut it IMHO...I wouldn't do anything hot since in August outside the last thing I would want to eat is a hot main course.
I like your idea about the men up front.....You could put some steak, chicken or hotdogs aside for the men and offer to the women, but I would take what you're having over a hotdog ANY day, and I bet most women will too! Joe, on the other hand, would take a hotdog and some dips only. It would be a nice way to make the men and women feel special with 2 seperate main dishes
