Baby teething

I have a 6 1/2 month old son. I am a new mommy and have never dealt with baby teething before. For the past week and a half I have noticed a little white dot on his gums. It isn't swollen or a lump just a tiny little dot. I am not sure if this is him teething or not but he has been acting very out of character for the past 3 days. I just want to know if anyone knows how long that tooth might just sit there if it is a tooth?

Re: Baby teething

When DS had his 1st teeth come in it looked like a little white chip until it fully appears

DS gets cranky and tired. If i think he needs it i give him tylenol.

DSs looked like a little chip initially too--I wouldn't say a dot, but it was small. If you run your finger over the gum does it feel rough or lumpy at all? His did.

You can try giving him something cold to soothe his gum. DS doesn't seem to like any of this, but people use cold washcloths, teethers, or frozen bagels. I give him orajel or tylenol, but only those when he's really uncomfortable.

I can't really tell if it's roughit doesn't look red or swollen to me either. Do you know how long it will take for it to come through? It's been a long time already.

She had the white dot for about a week or two then all of a sudden I felt it while feeding her(I BF her)but couldnt see more than the dot still and then the next day it popped up and I could see it...it did sort of happen suddenly.
